  1. I like the quote they have on their website. True words in a world that changes but also does not and where we need to balance hope and frustration because of it. The hologram mirror Leo sits in front of looks interesting. This museum also brings up hope and healing old lingering wounds while talking about the past. Something the world needs more of. ❀ I know Leo truly is interested in everything he does and one of the things I admire him for is his dedication to giving back or share his attention for a great cause.
  2. Jonah Hill's reaction ( and Meryl Streep) is probably not the reaction you want when you are giving them information that a comet is hitting the earth. πŸ˜‚ Kind of stressful πŸ˜‚ I love Jennifer's expression on Jonah's carefree attitude.
  3. I am sorry to hear that. ❀ Hope the funeral plans get sorted out safely.
  4. Nice investigating skills. Are you going if they are? πŸ™ƒ
  5. Olympic edition πŸ˜‚ Leo the athlete.
  6. The β€œput your hands on me” line was never just a cheesy line initiating a love scene. This line is a direct callback to what Cal tells Jack in the beginning of the film: in the first scene, Cal is the one in control. What he means is that he is the only one allowed to touch Rose, because he looks at Rose as his property. Rose has no say on the matter - Cal is the one making that decision for her, he’s the one with the power. So when Rose tells Jack to put his hands on her, she is taking that power back. She is claiming control of herself, because it’s her body and she is the only one who gets to decide who can and cannot touch her. Source Sry but who's saying this movie is just "another cheesy" love story isn't paying attention AT ALL. I'm not saying it isn't a romantic love story (it is of course) but it's more than this. It's a story about a strong woman full of symbolism, feminism, parallels and metas in a time where men's society didn't want women to be strong. You just have to sit down and pay attention to Rose' story. Because it is her story. For me Jack always was more or less her romantic wingman who helped her to not just to find her inner strength but to live it. She doesn't really need him. He's the 'kick off' to her freedom but never the main reason. That's always her. You make a compelling case of this epic story. πŸ™ƒ
  7. I am more of a "make love not war" type.πŸ˜‰
  8. You have any plans to yell at me? πŸ˜‚
  9. I was trying to think of other movies he portrays affection in and they aren't many. Romeo and Juliet come to mind and Gatsby but Gatsby was crazy in my opinion so it comes off as creepy and not charming. Revolutionary road is too hopeless for me right from the start. Like watching the movie Break-up where the games only lead to one end and the audience knows it. Titanic at least gives hope to me. If to choose one or the other. But I am not much for yelling and the preferred way of communication in Revolutionary road is raising your voice. If you are angry then be angry but say what you are angry about in a normal tone
  10. I know Youtube again but this one is interesting to watch. 🌞 He talks some about the history and where he thinks the culture is heading.
  11. I have seen that movie one million times and never noticed this. It is such a good movie. πŸ™ƒ
  12. I wouldn't say that Titanic is last on the list of movies I like but it isn't on the top. It does involve some heavy issues that made life less safe for people but it is foremost focusing on the love story. And that one is cute while life around them collapses.
  13. They can never be to long.❀
  14. I like that interview. It touches on both work and the emotions of what kind of life you want to lead. Does anyone know if we get what we want in the future? One of my friends always says to me: Who promised you your dream just because you got born? Very annoying when you want life to be in a certain way and it might not be for you. πŸ™ƒ You are blessed if you have the ability to create your world to your liking. Whether we talk about work or life outside of it. ❀
  15. From the article: "It feels like Tarantino messing around with an entire shooting day worth of Sony’s money, and leaves this β€œextended cut” gamble feeling like the studio’s way of trying to get it back." I can just see the executive people πŸ˜‚ vs Quentin. I enjoy the extended version. Watching both the "original" and extended made me more aware of how hard it must be to cut a movie. I am thinking of Scorsese when he discusses the scene where Margot steps into the house and how the cuts need to work so you don't mess up the rhythm of the scene. I am sure Quentin goes through similar thoughts. πŸ™ƒ
  16. HiπŸ™ƒ You can tell that this movie means a lot to him. I have seen two hours of three but I am about to finish watching it now. The little girl is in this version more. Love her. So much spunk in her attitude. ❀
  17. I haven't watched the whole three hours yet and are horrible at detect differences in cuts. I however noticed that Rick only talks about Polanski when he first sees them in the car driving past him and cliff. That scene when he cheers up of the thought of staring in a Polanski movie. But it isn't Polanski that greets him in the end tho. Hmm. Tarantino switches the attention from Polanski to Sharon. I didn't see that before. πŸ™ƒ
  18. I didn't realize that we did but if you wish so. ❀ Thanks for your view of things. At least I thought it was interesting. πŸ™ƒ
  19. But is it only entertainment if you mix real events with a fictitious story? Quentin did a good job blending the two to depict the change Hollywood went through. Each character is a symbol of something greater than themselves. Two views. Different story? That is why it is interesting to hear others' points of view. I never saw Sharon as the hostess or Rick as a guest until it got pointed out. My opinion was completely different. πŸ™ƒ
  20. I like the idea of Sharon as the hostess of transformation more than my original thought of her being "not part of the story until the end". A fleeting quiet being on the outskirts but very much in the mix. Is Rick just a guest then?
  21. Nicely put. πŸ™ƒ You don't think the transformation happened even if she wasn't a part of it? To put all of a divinely guided event on one individual. Even if she was described as the light. The question about her essence in the movie was important or not. (Kalling Quentin an old manπŸ˜‚)
  22. Just out of curiosity. Why didn't you watch the interview? πŸ™ƒ When Quentin started to look into her as a person he found that she was lovely but seemed too good to be true. What did you think?
  23. Watching Quentin's interview made me think of people's reactions to her character in the movie. The few I saw thought that she wasn't important and couldn't see why he wanted her character in it. But how would the movie be without her and her story? If we don't add anything and only cut her out. What I understand is she represents the future and coming out of the dark with hope. That fleeting, quiet element we can't reach but know is there. That moves us forward. Or as Quentin says: the beating heart.
  24. Quentin is talking about Sharon Tate and why he wanted to tell her story. Heartbreaking but sweet. ❀
  25. Can I do a Leo strategy and not answer sed question? Have it on my list of thing we don't talk about πŸ˜› I also want an image strategy. I am in great need of improving mine. πŸ˜‚ Or I just copying Leo's. Number one thing to think about: don't talk about love. I have a fairly good picture of most people even if I don't know them. Leo included. Not saying I can't be wrong or that people can't surprise me. πŸ™ƒ I love when that happens.
