I saw the camera kept showing Nolan Ryan who choked years ago for the Astros in the playoffs (can't remember who it was against, Phillies maybe). I was like, no way, this can't happen again....we were one freakin' strike away. Damn that was a punch in the gut....anyway. The Astros won in St. Louis once after a loss, they can do it again. We got The Rocket pitching tomorrow night. All we can do is try again.

...going to lunch at a place called "The Gold Dust"...sounds like a strip joint, huh? it's not, dang it...lol It's actually The Gold Dust Saloon. Apparently it's some sort of landmark here in Pueblo...I need to get out more and learn about this town. BTW ed, I hate pocket pairs. They give a false sense of power...unless you get another on the flop or something...or you have pocket aces or kings. anything else is just asking for trouble. At least in my experience. They haven't been good to me.

Only cool part of House of Wax was seeing Paris Hilton getting a 3/4" conduit through her skull. Elephant - I watched it for the second time today...first time was when it first came out on DVD, several months ago. It's a strangly disturbing and compelling film. It's very unique. A must see for anyone who likes great film making.

That's not really an accurate summation of my viewpoint. Although, if one does not believe in a god or some source of truth, a measuring stick of morailty if you will, then we are left to complete subjectivity. If this is the case each of us can make our own morality and who is to say one is better than another? Murder would have to be as acceptable as Charity as they are simply atoms in action. Let's look at this from another view...All cultures throughout history have had some common "sins" or actions that were considered evil within that culture. Murder is one. Even within cannibalistic cultures they considered the killing of a fellow tribesman as wrong and punishable. Another is stealing. Another, dishonesty. There are others... Sure, the cultures had different rules when it came to how they dealt with outsiders but they all share this thread of a common knowledge of good and evil that, for the lack of a better term, "is written on their hearts". I see this common knowledge of good and evil expressed even when we use phrases like "Hey, I was there first!", appealing to some unwritten, unspoken sense of right and wrong. ...We are not merely atoms.
