Stefani's L.A.M.B. line comes out like a lion after 'rebirth' Her best feet forward: "I never thought it would turn out this good," Gwen Stefani says of her new L.A.M.B. collection, which she'll show Thursday at Fashion Week. Twenty-four hours before the launch of her revamped L.A.M.B. fashion line, Gwen Stefani, 39, surveys two long racks bearing the fruits of her summer's efforts. "I never thought it would turn out this good," she says, smiling as she traces the lines of an intricately tailored white jacket and opens it to reveal tie-dye silk lining. The lead singer of the recently reunited No Doubt reveals the self-described "rebirth" of her L.A.M.B. line today after working in recent months alongside new partner Manhattan International Trade Inc. Most items will range from $48 to $345, and the line mixes draped separates, sturdy jackets, skinny jeans and leopard accents in neutral colors with pops of electric purple, red and yellow. The line is a departure for Stefani, who wanted to inject more style and serious craftsmanship into L.A.M.B collections. "I'm really spoiled," says the red-carpet maven, who is often photographed running errands with her children in sky-high stilettos and her signature bright-red lips. Now, "these jeans are as good as anything I have," she says, showing off a pair of dark-wash tie-dye skinny jeans on her slender frame. Pregnancy, or the absence of it, is the hidden theme in Stefani's fashion rebirth. Sons Kingston, 3, and Zuma, 1, put Stefani on a yo-yo of weight gain and loss, and until recently, her closet was jammed with maternity clothes. (Her current super-trim figure is "no miracle," she says, noting it took eight months to lose the weight after Zuma's birth.) When Stefani launched L.A.M.B seven years ago, she envisioned staying home and planning a family. Today, she's still going 100 mph with husband Gavin Rossdale and sons cheering her on. "I don't get any sleep," she admits. Multiplatinum solo albums, a reunion tour and a hot new line aside, Stefani's priorities are her children. She carries flip-flops in her purse for a quick stiletto change so she can manage carrying 25-pound Kingston. And time goes all too fast with baby Zuma, who quit breast-feeding this summer. "I didn't want him to (quit), it felt like a total rejection," she says. "It was really hormonal, and trying to stop in the middle of the tour was insane." With her three guys attending the L.A.M.B. show Thursday (if naptime permits), her next task is writing for the upcoming No Doubt album. Then, there's her 40th birthday on Oct. 3. 3rd Annual Hamptons Burger Bloodbath The Burger Bash was the perfect ending to summer. The Burger Bash is a contest among a handful of chefs to make the best beach burger. The line up this year was Mo Koyfman and Chef Jeff Schwarz, Jeffrey Chodorow, Josh Eden (Shorty's.32), Cobi Levy (Charles) and Peter Daversa (Hill Country) and the judges were Katie Lee Joel (winner of the Food and Wine Burger this past October), Mark Pastore (LaFrieda meat - all meat provided by LaFrieda), Kate Krader (Food and Wine) and Ben Leventhal ( who runs the event ). I was and more than likely will always be partial towards Mo and Jeff. Over the course of the summer, Josh, Emily and I were asked to be involved in all of the pre-tastings. Each afternoon was more fun than the next. There were only a few of us and they took our opinions seriously. Was it the right meat, should there be a cucumber or a pickle, does chopped lettuce make sense, is the onion crispy enough, is the size right, is the burger too small or too big, which bun goes better, cheddar or American, should we use bacon? The event was catered by Hill Country who served up ribs, brisket, slaw, corn bread and a few other items. I never go out for that type of food as I do love my own ribs and indulge basically once a year. I had been told this but I can now confirm that Hill Country's wet brisket is probably one of the best I have ever had and their bbq sauce is top. Josh helped sell poker chips, there were only 100 of them. The money went to 2 charities (Share our Strength and Foodbank) which gave you access to taste the burgers yourself. Some of the chefs did a much better job than others making sure the crowd got to taste their wares. Mo and Jeff really made sure that there were plenty for the crowd to try and so did Hill Country. There was not such an abundance of the other burgers for tasting. At the end of the day, as I tasted all the burgers, I still think Mo and Jeff had the best beach burger. The chips were used at the end to vote from the crowd and Jeff and Mo were voted as best burger from the crowd. Hill Countrys burger was a cheese burger with thick bacon and chipolte sauce, Chodorow was pan fried (every ingredient was pan fried) over the grill and made into a burger, Shortys was just a simple patty and Mo and Ben was the classic cheeseburger (still my favorite). A great event. Got to know a variety of people better this summer. Ate lots of fabulous burgers. The French billionaire didn't seem to mind getting dirty with his adorable toddler in the sand. The father-daughter pair were accompanied by Valentina's nanny. Nicole Richie & Joel Madden Welcome a Baby Boy Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are the proud parents of a baby boy, PEOPLE confirms. "In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009, Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. He weighs 7 lbs. 14 oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes," the couple wrote on Richie's Web site. The newborn joins older sister Harlow Winter Kate Madden, born in January 2008. "We're very, very blessed," Madden, 30, told PEOPLE on Aug. 6 of the approaching event. "We've already had one healthy kid, and that's all you can ask for as a parent – healthy kids." Richie, 27, who's enjoyed a new low-key lifestyle at home since the birth of Harlow, still keeps active with various business projects, including a maternity line for A Pea in the Pod and her House of Harlow 1960 jewelry line. The couple also run the Richie Madden Children's Foundation, which they launched in 2007 to provide grants to health-care and education nonprofits.
