oh, I see - but remember, Leo is actually there working in Sydney so it's not necessarily the case that what his friends are doing means Leo was also there with them - they're visiting and he's there for work. Also, I don't know - just knowing he went to the beach or some park with his friends and we find out about that seems less intrusive or the same as if discussing his love life or wanting to see pics of his balcony and seeing girls and stuff with him- you know what I mean? ALso, what his friends post to me is just a small small glimpse into Leo's life - there's a whole life there that is not open to the public, just like it should be with any famous person, so I wouldn't worry about knowing too much about him - I guess if someone's really worried about that, there's always a way to avoid that - just not read about them! I agree having a mystery about someone is more intriguing - I think Leo realizes that and that's why he acts the way he does sometimes.

haha, my mean side is showing but I roll my eyes when I read things like Devon Sawa saying he doesn't want to be like Leo or someone like Stephen Dorff saying he's happy he didn't get the part in Titanic - pleaaaaaaaaase, you people say those things because you know you can't ever be like Leo fashdream - what U mean when you said that about mobli and Lukas? Did he post some things that were too personal or what??? All I saw was a bunch of pics of himself and ethan and chuck guy and some french girls,lol. I think all of Leo's friends purposely don't specifically mention Leo in their twitters or moblis (like Ethan and Kevin) except for that friend Jonah(?) when he had pics of Leo when he was introducing Jonah's band at some club.

Hey, Oxford - did BretEaston Ellis tweet this OR did someone tweet it to him? I was looking at his tweets and didn't see that one??? He was tweeting a lot about movies and actors today but I didn't see the J Edgar one. He did tweet that Tree of Life was his most memorable movie of 2011 and I think he tweeted that the actor in The Artist should win BA. He also said positives on Moneyball and Ryan G in Drive.

OMG! I've been so busy w/ work and classes but I had to reply to this! I'm SO surprised to read that quote by Ellis cus I still remember being angry reading something he said about Leo and possibility of him doing the Patrick Bateman role in American pyscho - he said something like Leo woulda been all wrong for it blah blah blah and it bothered me cuz I think Leo could have played that role really well - he can show a real dark side - so Ithought this guy Ellis (even tho he wrote one of my fave books, Less Than Zero) was a douche for thinking that about Leo so I'm really happy he thought Leo was great in J Edgar. BTW, is ox and me the ONLY people here who've seen J Edgar already - no one else???

hmmm, my thoughts are Kate and Leo will never be a romantic couple - I mean they know each other for 10+ years now - if it was ever gonna happen, it would have happened by now. Also, they get along as friends but won't work as a couple - Kate herself said she is very different from Leo in that she doesn't like going out clubbing and going out like Leo. Also, there was a quote by her saying they actually considered whether they should have an affair (this was during Titanic filming) but decided against it cause they realized they couldn't take it serious like, cause they like each other too much as friends. I don't see any of the people suggested especially Charlize since she is like best friends with Kristen Zang (or was). I think is next girlfriend will be someone not well known, someone like Bar who no one outside of Israel really knew about before Leo. I saw The Descendants and really liked the movie BUT I felt like the role Clooney played could have been acted by lots of other actors just as well as he did.

i see more of a chance with Django unchained...Best supporting Actor though I guess

I don't really even care about the awards although it would be great if Leo was recognized. I just don't see him getting the same respect when it comes to critics that some other actors get, especially people like Gosling - he's like the darling right now of everybody. And even though I basically agree that others' opinion don't matter, you can't help but want critics to like your favorite actor. And I think there is a correlation between how a film/perf. is received by critics, and how people vote. Maybe I'm too sensitive when it come to Leo, but it seems like he gets more criticism than others. But also I think he needs to stay away from bio pics for a while cause it's become a cliche or something with him now, and it's something else they criticize him about and also personally too, I think I want him to do something different. I hope hope he doesn't do Sinatra cuz I don't think that's going to turn out well from him - too many people have this idea how Sinatra should be played and everything - and I just don't see Leo playing Sinatra no matter how good I think he is. btw, I do see a difference of the value of certain critics, but as many respectable critics praised Leo, it's equally some other respectable critics who didn't like him in J Edgar - have you read ALL the reviews on RT?

Thanks for all the pix! Love the new one with Leo and Milan, by princess. P.S> I don't want to be the party pooper but Leo's perf in J Edgar hasn't been majorly praised. I've read several of reviews on RT that were BAD! It hurts me to read them, some of them are downright cruel (like New York Observer, Salon,) - while I can't find even one review that is critical of Clooney or Gosling or Pitt for their perf. to that degree. It's like some people still have this thing against Leo no matter what he does.

I wish it were so but look at Rotten Tomatoes which has most of all reviews around the world - it' s at like 41% positive right now. :yuckky: and while some top critics gave it a good review, some other top reviewers, like TIME mag and like that, gave it bad reviews.

So sad - a few weeks ago, I thought Leo was a lock for nominations but now I'm not so sure :-((. I don't know what changed but maybe the box office tho it doesn't seem to affect Gosling or some of the others - maybe the reviews of the film itself, which is prob. less than 50% positive. It always seems to happen with LEO- but really it's better he win when LOTS of people, including critics, agree that he is the BEST for the year. I don't see that with J Edgar. I know, it seems not fair but I want him to win it when everyone is pulling for him and he is the definitive favorite, not just with Leo fans because I dont wanna here people saying he didn't deserve it, blah blah blah
