Doutzen Kroes uit Eastermar gaat zich inspannen voor de Friese taal. Het 22-jarige topmodel dat al het gezicht is van bekende merken als L'Oréal en Victoria's Secret zal een belangrijke rol spelen in de campagne 'Praat mar Frysk' van de provincie Fryslân. De aftrap van de campagne is volgende week in Tytsjerksteradiel. Doutzen werd gevraagd omdat ze op mooie wijze laat zien dat ze uit Friesland komt en Fries praat. Het doel van de campagne is om Friezen bewust te maken van hun eigen taal. Verder is het de bedoeling om de drempel te verlagen om Fries te spreken in allerhande situaties. De provincie heeft 100.000 euro gesubsidieerd voor de campagne.
