American Image Awards Dinner Monday, May 14, 2007 The red carpet will surely shine with “Fabulosity” as fashion's reigning captain, Jay Manuel, hosts this year’s AAFA American Image Awards. This year’s awards will recognize some of the biggest movers and shakers in the industry: Matt Rubel, CEO & President of Payless ShoeSource, will accept the Retailer of the Year Award; Kimora Lee Simmons of Baby Phat will accept the Designer of the Year Award; New Balance will be honored with the Innovation in Performance Award; Patricia Field will accept the Fashion Maverick Award; Dany Levy of DailyCandy will accept the Golden Pen Award; and George Feldenkreis, Chairman & CEO of Perry Ellis International, will accept the Man of the Year Award. The evening will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), and the work that they do to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Tennis superstar Anna Kournikova will be presented with the Spirit of a Woman Award, recognizing all of the tireless work that she has done on behalf of BGCA. Forty percent of the evening’s net proceeds will benefit the BGCA.
