  7. New pictures of Ali from a Latin benefit.
  8. Went to the midnight showing of HP on Thursday/Friday. Guys, it was awesome! The house was packed and they played it on three screens. People laughed, clapped, and just really got into the movie. It was funnier than I thought it would be and although I disagreed with a few things here and there, all in all, it was awesome! Although they leave out what what happens to BCJ at the end. You just see him turn back into himself and they play him off like he always fully admitted to being bad. They don't show him begging and saying he's innocent. They leave out Winky and Dobby as well and Ludo isn't in the movie at all. They replace his bits and give them to Fudge/BC instead. Still, the effects were the great, the movie was packed full of excitement, comedy, and the effects done on VD were stellar! I was slightly disappointed that he didn't come off a little scarier and if you are a fan of Snape/Rickman (like me!), he doesn't have many lines at all. Although he does have a few comedy bits that are very priceless and steal the scene. Ron however in my opinion, along with the twins, steals the comedy completely in this movie. It's really well humored but dark in all the right spots. Go see it, you won't regret it! lol
  9. Just some smut for the guys. lol Hope this revives some interest!
  10. Been a long while since I added some HT pics so here comes quite a few. Hope there's still some love out there for the poor woman. In news, her husband Michael Tylo has left her and filed for divorce. It was a long time coming according to Hunter but still, he packed all his stuff and left no word as to where he was going. His loss Hunter, his loss.
  11. Just adding a random photo or two. If anyone has some rare photos of Ali, please add them! lol Please do not post images side by side such that they equal greater than 600 pixels in width -OriginalSin
  12. Hey guys! Long time, no Ali Landry love. Gotta pass on some pics of Ali supporting her home state and raising money for Hurricane Katrina. Enjoy!
  13. Rob Thomas was the singer and principal songwriter for Matchbox Twenty, a Florida-based adult alternative combo that found success with a blend of '70s rock influences, slick hooks, and 1990s post-grunge crunch. The band broke through in 1996 with "Push" and never looked back, issuing single after single, scoring hits in various radio formats, and watching its debut LP, Yourself or Someone Like You, go platinum 12 times over in the U.S. Thomas himself won numerous songwriting awards as the scribe of such Matchbox hits as "Real World," "If You're Gone," "Bent," and "Mad Season," and parlayed that success into a career as a solo artist. Rob Thomas was born February 14, 1972, on an Army base in Landstuhl, Germany. His parents divorced, and the ex-Army brat spent most of his childhood in South Carolina and Florida. He dropped out of high school at 17, and bounced around the South singing in pickup rock bands before landing in Orlando in 1993. There he helped form Tabitha's Secret, and the group had some regional success before Thomas, bassist Brian Yale, and drummer Paul Doucette left to form Matchbox Twenty with guitarists Adam Gaynor and Kyle Cook. Their debut, Yourself or Someone Like You, had gone five times platinum by 1998, and it established them as superstars even if Thomas wasn't individually well known. That all changed with a song he co-wrote for the Carlos Santana album Supernatural. "Smooth" was ubiquitous in 1999, and it made Thomas a star. The track took home three Grammys including Song of the Year, and Thomas landed on People's "Most Beautiful People" list. He also married model Marisol Maldonado. Mad Season (2000) and More Than You Think You Are (2002) continued Matchbox Twenty's success, but after years of touring for both records, the bandmembers decided they needed a break, and Thomas used the hiatus to write and record his first solo album. When "Lonely No More" debuted in early 2005, its sleek and funky dance-pop sound was closer to Justin Timberlake than Matchbox, and it set up the April release of Something to Be.
  14. Just thought I'd share some Ali love. It's been a while and no pictures. lol Here you go!
  15. I just finished listening to the 5th book on cd again. I have to say, it's a really dull book. Umbridge is about the most exciting thing in the whole book. Gotta love hating her. lol Anyway, just noticed a few bits here and there. Firstly, my fave part of the whole book is Dumbledore's long speech to Harry at the end. Very tear worthy. Anyway, maybe I'm making a big to do about nothing but when Dumbledore describes how Harry is feeling, about how bad it hurt ot lose Sirius, is it just me or is he talking like someone that has lost a great deal? Sure it could be said he felt loss after members of the Order died but he never reacted heart broken to be honest unless he kept it inside himself some how. I just keep wondering about what Dumbledore saw or was forced to relive when he drank that potion in book 6. If it was an event from his past, maybe that's the pain he was refering to when talking to Harry. He was drawing on that pain to summarize how Harry was feeling. Secondly, is it just me or does Dumbledore care more about Harry than any teacher should or would? It's one thing to feel sorry for Harry cause he's orphaned but talking about not caring who died as long as Harry was okay? Seems like he might have a bit more invested interested in Harry than we know about. Also saying how VD possessing Harry would be Harry's downfall, not Dumbledore's. How so? The moment he possessed Harry he had to flee cause he thought about Sirius. I might be grasping at straws but it was just a few thoughts. Apparently something huge is to come out about Lily in the last book and her green eyes play a huge role. As we all know, green is the color for Slytherin and I'm curious, how is it that Lily is a witch? JK herself said that her parents died regular muggle deaths so how come her whole family were muggles and she was the only witch? Makes you wonder about her roots, huh? And notice how JK always puts emphasis on DD's blue eyes? Hmm seems like I had something to say on Snape too as well and forgot. Oh, I do remember something. Know how that boy (can't spell his name lol) got shut into that cabnet? He showed up in the toilets, right? Well in the 6th book Malfoy says he apperated out. How could he apperate out and land in a bathroom at Hogwarts? You can't do that. And if Malfoy knew about it, how come Snape didn't when it was he they fetched to help put him back together? Why couldn't he have told about the cabnet to help the Dark Lord? And I noticed he could get through the security in the 6th book when he fetched Harry from Tonks. If he knew of the security around the castle, why couldn't he have told VD how to get around it? He could have met him some place and slipped him in? I dunno, after reading the 5th book again, VD doesn't seem all that grand. He had to use Harry to get the prophecy. If he's so great, couldn't he have waltzed in there himself disguised and gotten it? Like put everyone to sleep while he snuck in or something? He's supposed to be all powerful and it took him months to find a way in? Sounds sorta pathetic, doesn't it? Oh well, just a few new random thoughts. lol
  16. Hey, I'm from Kentucky and I have to say, Ashley is one of the nicest people. She goes to just about every single UK basketball game and she's on our tv all the time talking about them and giving interviews. She does a lot for the University of Kentucky, whatever she can to raise money for them and she is a proud Kentuckian. She and her mother do a lot for this state and last year, Ashley even wrote a column for the Lexington Herald during March Madness, even while she was in Africa! lol She's a HUGE fan and they show her on tv every time she's at a game. She's a real sweetheart and we're very very proud to have her be from our state. Cause even though she was born in CA, she proudly claims Kentucky. She even has a UK tatoo!
  17. I wanted to point out something about the book belonging to or not belonging to Lily. My friend recently pointed out that Snape had said that James used his spells against him in school. What if Snape had been copying down notes, as suggested by SchtoopingHer, for Lily and the whole "Property of the Half-Blood Prince" was him only claiming rights to what he had copied for her? And if James and Lily were every chummy before they dated as it seems they may have been, he got the spells from her? It's just a thought and probably a bit of a stretch but how else would James know about Snape's own spells if they were his inventions alone?
  18. Well guys, I've listened to the book on cd and I've taken in new things and have questions. The first thing I really noticed was that when Harry confronted DD about Snape being the one to over hear the prophecy, at one point DD pauses "as if trying to decide something" or at least thinking at some point. Makes me wonder if DD was pondering whether he should tell Harry the whole truth. If indeed it was Lily that Snape was upset that got killed and DD knew it, maybe he was trying to decide if then was the right time to tell Harry. Why else would he need to stop and think about what Harry was saying? He gave such a general answer. Never once saying that it was any Potter in particular he felt bad for having killed. At the end, all that was said was Lupin stating that "Snape hated James." Which I have to say, certainly doesn't add up and not to anyone. I'm trying to go in order of what I've noticed. lol One of my really big questions is that when DD drunk the potion in the cave, what was it's effects? DD clearly stated many times that "he did wrong" and that he'd "never do it again" and to "leave them alone". "Them" who? Was he reliving a really bad memory of the past or was he being thrown into an unreal scene of people being hurt and him pleading for them? If it's something from his past, I really want to know what it was. Now when I listened to it on cd, I really wanted to hear the tone in which DD posed "Severus...please." And the way Jim Dale did it, it came off very pleadingly. Not like a request, but as in a "Don't kill me" sorta way and that bothered me. I did go to the dumbledoreisnotdead.com site and held tight to what I heard cause it'll kill me if Snape indeed is horrible. Further evidence that confuses me is why would he stun Professor Flitwick? He had no cause to unless he wanted him out of the way while he performed his duty or was on the bad side and had one out of the way. Then again, he could have just as easily killed Flitwick cause if he was going to go be with VD, then he could do as he wished, right? However, if this was something they had planned (SS, DD) why allow Harry to witness it? He knew Harry would assume the worst. He knew everyone would know Snape did it and would be after him. Out to kill him. So indeed, he was giving Severus a suicide mission if you ask me. Sure they could catch up with him and he could fill them in but unless DD plans to reveal himself in time (and I really think he's dead) then what good was all this? And from the sounds of it, no one else was really even in on it. But if he did as DD asked and they had a plan, then I really believe he promised, as Harry did, to do whatever DD asked, no matter how much he didn't want to. Harry hated himself for what he did. Pouring that potion down DD's throat. But as I listened and Malfoy said that Severus was on their side, that he was playing a double agent, it makes me wonder if DD didn't just realize in that instant that maybe Snape wasn't on his side and that's why he pleaded for his life. However, when it came time to leave, Snape did ask that everyone leave. Now unless he was under strict orders by VD to do so, why would he make everyone leave? They had a perfect chance to kill more members of the Order but Snape grabbed Malfoy and ran off with him. As if protecting him and made everhone else follow. DD was "dead" and they could have killed quite a few members. They clearly had the upper hand and yet, they retreated. Could Snape have been trying to protect everyone? Lastly, when Harry told Severus to kill him like he killed DD and called him a coward, what was Snape's response? "DON'T...call me a coward" or close enough anyway. If he had just killed DD, why not brag about it? Why not be cold hearted and really dig in? Why get picky over being called a coward unless he knew something Harry didn't and was sickened at being called a coward when he knew he wasn't one. That he knew what he had just done took a lot of courage because he really liked DD and was sick at having to "kill" him? Just my new thoughts on things guys. Very curious about this book and each time I go back, I find something new. Not sure if I'm grasping at straws or latching onto something. lol Just let me know what you think, even if it's to say I'm way off target. (do so nicely, I'm sensitive! lol) ttyl
  19. ITA, SchtoopingHer. There has to be something deeper than just some school pranks. Snape would have to be a cold and bitter person to hold something so childish as some teasing back in school against James Potter, Sirius Black, and Remus Lupin for how many years? I don't understand his hate toward Lupin though. Sirius may not have kept him from Lily but he loved to tease Snape. However, Lupin seemed to keep his mouth shut and he even said in HBP that he neither hates or likes Severus. Also, I know some people are saying how you have to really mean it to use Avada, but if Severus ever harbored any hate toward DD, any at all, I think he could have channeled it enough to have meant it when he killed him. Who is to say that the heated arguement wasn't a rooge to fire Snape up and to get him to have ill will toward DD? Bit of a stretch but it's a thought. Also, I wanted to know your thoughts on Petunia. JK has said that "there is more to her than meets the eye." And she's not a squib. This is Harry's last time being with the Dursleys and I wonder if Aunt Petunia will finally be good to her sister. For the longest time I've felt she was jealous of Lily. Which is quite obvious. But I also thought that maybe she was so mean to Harry is cause like Snape, she resents him. She resents that her sister was a witch because maybe at one point they were close. Then suddenly they weren't and Lily died to save her son. It's obvious that Petunia knows more than what she lets onto. That's obvious from OOTP. She knew what dementors were and about Azkaban. Makes you wonder doesn't it? I'm just aching for Harry to finally get some form of parental love, even if he's past it. I teared up when Mrs. Weasley said that Harry was as good as her son in OOTP. Also, does anyone else think that Lucious would sacrifice his own son to VD if he had to? I think Narcissa would turn her back on VD in a heart beat but I really think Lucious is so involved, he'd turn on his son if VD asked. I'd love to see more of Lucious and possibley see his own son but him in his place. They wouldn't be mixed up with VD in the first place if Lucious wasn't so set on being a death eater. Just some random thoughts I'm tossing out there. Let me know what you think. Trying to spark some new train of thought. lol
  20. Firstly, how do I make my signature the right size? I was told it's too big and I don't know how to change the size without remaking the graphic and I don't want to do that! lol Anyway, SchtoopingHer, it scares me how much alike we think! I swear I hadn't read any of your posts when I posted mine so you can see we do think along the same lines. I have gone back and read a lot of your posts. I agree with so much fo what you said and you've even got me thinking deeper on a few things I had picked up myself. I really think that Snape was in love with Lily. As I have said, it was hinted by JK herself that even Lupin really liked her but would never compete with James for her. I know some people could argue that he did insult Lily but he was in a group of people. What was he supposed to say? I just wonder what has him against half-bloods so much when he himself is one? It could be that his father was a horrible person. I do remember that Harry got into Snape's mind or was it during the pencive? That he saw a memory of a small boy crying in the corner and a man (who looked a lot like Snape) was yelling at him. Harry said he thought it was a much younger Snape (ie the boy) but you never know, he could have interrupted it wrong. Maybe he had a lot of resentment toward muggles since then. However, I found a quote from an interview with JK I thought everyone should see.
  21. Finally! A forum that doesn't mean I have to apply for passwords or post in certain areas to get my thoughts acrossed. lol I haven't had the chance to read everyone's take on the book but I have a few ideas. Firstly, I cried soooo hard when I read that Snape killed Dumbledore. I knew he had to die but it was that Snape killed him that I cried about. He's my absolute fave and I've always believed that no matter how much JK wants to build him up otherwise, he's a good guy. Although she has said to "not feel too sorry for Snape." Anyway, I have to say that "Snape vs Snape" article opened my mind to some new thoughts. I read it a few days ago and it dawned on me. I had been struck at how when Dumbledore saw Severus his first and only words were "Severus...please." If he, Dumbledore, thought Severus was on his side, why would his first words be a plea for his life? Unless as my friend said, she took it that Dumbledore was asking Snape to please help him cause of the potion he drank. Still, it struck me funny that if he was indeed begging for his life, that he would know that Snape was going to kill him in which case, why have him around? Secondly, I found it funny that Snape was indeed giving Harry advice while Harry chased after him. Sure he threw spells his way but he never hurt him too bad and he told him over and over to "shut your mouth and open your mind" Something along those lines anyway. Unless Snape was so secure that Harry couldn't accomplish it, why tell him? Why give him more ammo to use? That stuck with me and I think it might be more proof he's a good guy. Further proof? Upon listening to the book on cd after reading it, I remembered something. Harry knew Snape took an unbreakable vow. He knew it would kill him and assumingly, when the book says he told Dumbeldore everything, he told him about this. So that must mean that Dumbledore knew the obligation Severus was under and would he really let Snape just die? He knew Malfoy wouldn't go through with it as he told Malfoy. So that left Snape to do the job and I don't think he would have let him die. Especially with him being in the position he was in with Voldemort. And notice how when he ran, he kept Draco with him the whole time. I think it was to protect him. He knew the danger Draco would be in cause he didn't full fill his task. But did you notice how he didn't want to take that last part of the unbreakable vow? I think he only took it cause he would have looked iffy in front of Bellatrix had he not of and I think he was uneasy about the last part cause he knew he didn't want to help and it would have meant his life. Now the only things that could derail this is that Snape and Dumbledore were over heard arguing. I understand Snape feeling like he was being over worked. I mean he's in a good position to help and it seems like he's always being asked to do more and it's a dangerous job. And I know people can argue that the second chapter showed what side he was on but I believe JK wanted us to see how he had to interact with the other half. We know how he is with the Order. Also, my friend and I have drawn a conclusion. We think we really know why Snape feels bad about over hearing the prophecy and setting Voldemort off to the Potter's and why he might really be on their side. JK said a lot about Lily having a choice. I think that as a "reward" or "favor" to Snape for over hearing the prophecy, Voldemort allowed him a request and that was that he not kill Lily. I think Snape had feelings for her cause JK has hinted at this and said that Lily was "very popular" and "very liked". And Lily took up for Snape. But I think because she wouldn't move, Voldemort had to forget his promise to Severus and killed her. And I think when he found that out, it devestated him and he went to the good side. I think he hates Voldemort and I'll go a step further. I think Dumbledore knows that and he told Harry that Severus felt bad for killing James because he didn't think Harry or anyone would forgive him for Lily. He probably swore to keep that quiet. I think that's why Severus stays on the right side of things. I just wish he'd filled more people in on this so that everyone was stood sitting around hating Snape if this is the case. He has to have some morals. Dumbledore said in the first book that Severus saved Harry's life because he owed it to James for saving his life. If he had no morals, would he honor such a debt for a man that was already dead? No. I think this was planned by the two of them to secure Snape to stay on the inside and Dumbeldore knew he could communicate with Harry in other ways. He has a picture hanging in the headmaster's office, right? And I think his brother is the person that JK wants to introduce us to more closely in the Order as she has said. Anyway, that's my take. I think Draco would be on the good side if given the chance. He reverted back to being a child. He wanted to be an adult and have adult responsibilites so bad and when he got it, he choked. Oh and I'm plugging my site. lol I have a Hogwarts: The Early Years rpg. Feel free to join! http://www.freewebs.com/hpearlyears/index.htm
  22. Full name: Shane Brandon McMahon Date of Birth: January 15th, 1970 Age: 35 Height: 6"2 Weight: 230 pounds Resides: Greenwich, Connecticut Family: Parents Vince & Linda, younger sister Stephanie, wife Marissa, son Declan James From the moment that he was born, it seems as though Shane McMahon was destined to become involved in the wrestling business. Being the only son of Vince and Linda meant that Shane basically immediately became the heir apparent to the wrestling business like his father, grandfather and great-grandfather before him. At the age of 11, Shane worked at Cape Cod Collosseum, which was owned by the McMahons. It is also where Titan Sports and the WWF were "born". Shane worked on the clean-up crew, cleaning up after events and rock concerts. When he was 12, Shane graduated to the inside crew and a year later the McMahon family and their company relocated to Connecticut. Shane then went to work in the warehouse in Stamford, packing orders and stacking boxes. When he was 14 or 15, Shane got a job as a labourer for a brick mason and did that for a few summers. An interesting fact is that Shane actually helped to build his parents house. As well as his summer job as a labourer, Shane was also interning at the WWF headquarters in the marketing department. In 1989 he started on the ring crew, travelling around the country and setting up before live events. The night of the event Shane would referee, ring announce, or do whatever needed to be done. In August 1998 Shane debuted as a colour commentator on Sunday Night Heat, but soon realised his talents would be better utilized in other areas. Late in 1998 Shane began his first major storyline, ending with a heel turn and the infamous screw-job of Stone Cold at Survivor Series. Shane attended Boston University and earned a BS in Communications and Public Relations. He is now a full-time employee at Titan Sports and works out of the Stamford Headquarters. He is the President of New Media, heading up the internet division and overseeing the wwf's website, wwf.com. He also contributes to creative storylines and continues his work as as on-screen talent. Shane has impressed and surprised many people with his in-ring wrestling ability. He's trained hard over the years to improve his skills and he's showed on more than one occassion that he's willing to put his body on the line to entertain the fans and do risky moves that even some of the seasoned veterans wouldn't dare try. He has executed a cross-body on the Posse off the top of a steel cage, been thrown off the stage and through a table by Triple H, been chokeslammed through the announce table by Undertaker and performed many so-called 'leaps of faith' - leaping from the top rope and elbowing people through the announce table. At Summerslam 2000, Shane took his willingness to put his body on the line to the next level. During his match with Steve Blackman, Shane climbed up the side of the Ovaltron and then after a shot with a kendo stick to his back, Shane stunned the crowd by falling backwards and landing with a sickening thud. My heart was in my throat at that point and it remains the single most amazing thing I've seen in the WWF. After that no one could possibly doubt Shane's courage or heart. Just when I thought Shane couldn't top that Summerslam fall, come Backlash 2001 he once again proved his courage and willingness to put himself on the line to entertain the fans. He climbed to the top of the entranceway and executed an elbow drop on the Big Show from an unbelievable height. Once again my heart was in my throat and I literally feared for Shane's life. When I saw him climbing up there I knew what was coming, but I was still in utter disbelief when he took that leap. It was amazing. Shane's most impressive and courageous in-ring performance came at the 2001 King of the Ring in a street fight against Kurt Angle. It was popular belief that the match they put on outshone the main event, and I have to agree. Angle is one of the best wrestlers in the world and Shane stood toe-to-toe with him and impressed with not only his wrestling skill, but as always his tremendous courage. He was dropped on his head on the concrete floor, suplexed and thrown through glass and left a battered and bloody mess. It was the most brutal match I've seen Shane involved in but also the most amazing. After a long absence from WWE television, Shane made a huge return to Raw mid-2003 in order to defend the honor of his mother, Linda. After attacking Kane, Shane ended up in a feud with Eric Bischoff, which concluded with a match at Summerslam, where Shane walked away the winner. His feud with Kane then heated up, and again Shane put his body on the line in his attempts to defeat the big red monster. The feud ended with an ambulance match at Survivor Series, where Shane ended the night in the back of an ambulance, and hasn't been seen on television since. Since that last match, Shane has again been spending his time focusing on the behind-the-scenes side of the business rather than appearing on television. There were also personal reasons for his absence, with his wife Marissa giving birth to their first child. Bottom line, Shane is an amazing on-screen persona and his ability as an in-ring performer has been well proven, and hopefully he is ready to make a return to WWE storylines in the near future. Shane just continues to amaze us all and I believe that he has earned the respect as a superstar in his own right, not just a McMahon. He's proved to everyone that he has a huge heart, a ton of courage, and of course that McMahon attitude and fighting spirit that we all know and love. I truly hope that this website is a fitting dedication to the man we affectionately call Shane O'Mac.
  23. I think she's gorgeous. Okay so she has some problem areas but who doesn't? I think she's got that really classic beauty to her and I love her acting. She's well rounded and certainly one of my all time faves! Right behind Ali Landry of course. lol
