I can't tell if I'm looking forward to PUNK tbh. It seems like a good segment and I love the idea of all angels being in the same segment but the pacing might be awful which is a pet peeve of mine. Harry is rumoured to be singing Kiwi in this section I think? boy better have an extended version if the 20 looks is true
I agree that it does lack energy (and she's my fave) but whether that's down to hesitance due to the 2012 incident or wanting to appear mysterious on the runway which doesn't translate well, we don't know. It's a shame because she does appear to have a big personality once you get past the shyness but that doesn't come out on the runway. Hopefully, this year the FB will give her confidence to rock it like I know she can.
I'm looking at the stage/venue and it all seems a bit much and unnecessary. Yeah, it's for TV and it all has to be big and glamorous but they've been focusing on the "show" aspect and they're not prioritising the fact that it's a fashion show so their main objective should be to show the fashion off well. Last year was awful because they barely focused on the models or the outfits, they were too busy showing off the venue, the artists singing or what was going on backstage and I just feel like, what's the point? A simple show, decent venue, gorgeous outfits and good line-up (preferably under 40 so angels can get 3 outfits) would be my ideal show. It's all become a farce recently but they've seemed to hype it up more over the years rather than go back to the basics. The 2005-2008 shows were so great. I miss that.
I may be one of a few but I never got the appeal of Julia. She just doesn't scream bombshell to me and I don't get why VS hired her for all those shows. She seemed very awkward (especially in Tough Love, but that may have been the corset's fault) and her smile seemed almost childlike. I feel that Joan got the angel treatment, as well as Karlie before she became an angel. Especially in her first show as she got three outfits, one with big wings and two closings which included the show closing.
Amid the rumours of Alessandra leaving and this being her final show (has this been denied/confirmed?), what do you guys feel about her place in this years' show? I've seen that people still want her to open, which I also wanted at first, but now I kinda want her to close the show. It would be a perfect goodbye if her final walk is her closing both the Balmain section and the whole show. Her opening the show would mean that her final walk is her stuck in the middle a segment with 8 seconds of screen-time. She deserves far more than that.
