MINDHUNTER
Netflix has just released the new trailer for David Fincher’s Mindhunter, and some of the critics have already revealed their first impressions. The very intriguing two-minute trailer definitely looks in line with Fincher’s serial killer stories. The first scene and a lot of the rest are reminiscent of Zodiac in particular. We don’t need big stars when the premise is so interesting and the visuals verge on the disturbing. If Fincher’s name didn’t sell this enough already, the trailer should make it one of the most anticipated new series of the fall. And here is what critics are saying: “The trailer looks like pure Fincher, with its brooding and hazy darkness, screeching violins in the background, and grimy neo-noir aesthetic. In other words, it looks great, and will be sure to induce a nightmare or two.” – Austin Elias-de Jesus, Slate. “[Fincher] seems like he’s crafted something akin to Zodiac meets the first season of True Detective, which is really all I need to know in order to set aside some time to binge watch it this fall.” – Ethan Anderton, /Film. “It should be neat seeing Groff take on such a heavy role, but what I like about this trailer is that it doesn’t show him chewing the scenery or going for big moments. If anything, the show is highlighting how mild and milquetoast he is, which makes for a nice comparison against the monsters he has to interview.” – Matt Goldberg, Collider. David Fincher has had great success working with Netflix on House of Cards. He’s also made a number of excellent movies involving serial killers (Seven, Zodiac, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). Now he’s got a new series for Netflix about serial killers, and it’s apparently so good the streaming service has already ordered a second season. When it debuts: October 13, which is when all 10 episodes of the first season will arrive on Netflix at once. Who’s in it: Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, Anna Torv, Hannah Gross, Cotter Smith. What it’s about: Based on the nonfiction book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit, the series follows two detectives (McCallany and Groff) as they visit captured serial killers in prison to aid current and ongoing cases. Yes, that sounds a bit like Thomas Harris adaptations, such as The Silence of the Lambs and the similar-sounding Manhunter. Fincher is directing some of the episodes, with the rest helmed by Asif Kapadia (Amy), Tobias Lindholm (A Hijacking), and Andrew Douglas (the Amityville Horror remake).

WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK! This is what sanctuary cities really mean. These are the consequences of freeing criminals. And all that is the product of the left's embrace of illegal aliens as an identity politics demographics. Meet Sergio Jose Martinez. He's just DREAMing of some of the worst crimes around. Police previously arrested the 31-year-old man linked to two violent attacks on women in Northeast Portland more than 10 times in the past decade, according to records obtained by KOIN 6 News. On Wednesday, Martinez was arraigned at the Multnomah County Justice Center on a total of 13 felonies including burglary, sodomy, sexual abuse, robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Other jail records show that “[Martinez] has entry/removal from United States to/from Mexico 20 times with at least 5 probation violations from re-entry.” Jail records submitted in March 2017 show Martinez’s most recent deportation to Mexico was Nov. 2, 2016. It remains unknown how or when he returned to the United States. 20 times. This is what he did now. The criminal spree on Monday began around 7pm, when a suspect broke through an open window into a 65-year-old woman’s home, on NE Halsey street in the Sullivan's Gulch neighborhood. The suspect, who police say was Martinez, used scarves and socks from her closet to bind and gag the woman before sexually assaulting her, according to court documents reported by Fox12. Martinez slammed the elderly woman's head into the wooden floor, punched her, and stole her phone, credit cars, and car, speeding away in it, according to police. The woman was able to get to a neighbor's home and call 911. Just hours later, police say Martinez had made his way to a parking garage, where he crouched in a dark corner until he spotted a woman. He approached the woman saying he wanted to 'talk', but then produced a knife and forced the woman to walk towards her car, according to police. The woman offered him her money, phone and laptop to leave her alone, but when he persisted in the assault, she kicked him in the stomach, cops say. 'You shouldn’t have done that,' Martinez said, as the woman hit the panic button on her car in a last ditch attempt to find help, according to a police affidavit. As the assault unfolded, people nearby heard her screams and ran to her aid, and the suspect fled. Police arrested Martinez nearby carrying a six-inch knife. Why was Martinez able to do all this? Because he was freed by a sanctuary city instead of being turned over to Federal authorities. Six months ago, on December 7, jail officials in Portland had Martinez in custody when they received a request from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, asking the jail to notify ICE before his release. Yet the local officials released him the next day in defiance of the federal immigration detainer, an agency spokeswoman told the Oregonian. Oregon has a state law forbidding local law enforcement from using any resources to enforce federal immigration law. And that's how this atrocity happened. In a letter dated September 21, 2016, Multnomah County Sheriff Mike Reese wrote that the county is “not responsible for enforcing federal immigration policy….MCSO follows the direction of the Federal District Court of Oregon prohibiting local jail systems from honoring ICE detainees. Additionally, there are provisions of Oregon law which restrict our cooperation with federal immigration authorities.” The letter goes on to state, “The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office does not hold persons in jail based upon their immigration status.” In a joint statement issued in January 2017, eight high-ranking elected officials within Multnomah County issued a statement reiterating the county’s policy. “The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office does not give ICE officers access to areas of court facilities that are not open to the public, and does not permit ICE officers to maintain a presence in any County correctional facility….The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office does not notify or alert immigration officials or agencies regarding individuals with whom [it] come into contact.” Instead Multnomah County protects illegal alien rapists and punishes their victims. In just over an hour, FX will open a special “American Horror Story” attraction outside of the ongoing San Diego Comic-Con. For the past few days, fans have been sharing photos on social media with a warning sign affixed to the exterior that revealed it would be a Zoetrope. The construction of the attraction looks like an old-timey saloon that’s also a theater of sorts. How does this relate to the theme? We have no idea. What we do know is that this Zoetrope is shaped like honeycomb and that Ryan Murphy tweeted out a tease that bees have something to do with this cult-like Presidential-themed seventh season. Watch this spot for the official title and theme reveal but in the meantime here’s a leaked video from inside of the “American Horror Story” Zoetrope that mixes a clown with a beehive and two girls kissing. Any last-minute guesses?- American Horror Story
