Genuine question. What was so terrible with Candice’s 2013 opening? It is one of the most universally praised walks both in here and outside of BZ. So what do you see in it that is so bad?

Behati didn’t open a segment. She was in the middle for Downtown. Or am I misremembering?

^ so, at this point, all of the current angels have opened. Out of all the Angels that VS has had throughout the years, Jac, Kate, Rosie and Izabel did not open a segment.

I just realized that VS must be pretty damn proud of those parachute wings to give one to Gigi. They know that by giving it to her it will be one of the outfits that will get A LOT of press. It just shows VS’s lack of taste.

^ But it would never come close to 100 million. Not even half that. Ed overdoes it with the exaggeration.

Agreed. The choir was corny and unnecessary to me as well. What’s weird is I usually like choirs for the show. It classes the show up a bit. But this one was indeed corny / cringy and they just cluttered up the runway.

I don’t think it’s the final edit. There’s not enough cuts to backstage / singer / audience / overhead shots for it to be the final edit. After it’s all said and done, we’ll probably see 5 seconds of Taylor’s opening. I know it has been said multiple times but it bears repeating - Taylor has a horrible walk. At least, she looks good. Singer sounds awful too.

Winnie had 2 looks - Flight and MK.

Unpopular opinion: I like Lameka’s outfit

^ Yikes! That could have been a Ming Xi level disaster. Why would they put 15 people on a very narrow runway? Some of the decisions made for this show are so poor.

What the hell was that!? Lol.

^ +1 on the collab. Was anybody here aware of Mary K before this? Is it true that she only got to work with VS because of her friendship with Sophia? That segment was just atrocious. The only thing worth watching on that segment when it airs is Shawn.

Yay! I finally caught up after 150 pages. I know I don’t have to go through all of it but the photos are interesting and you guys are entertaining. Here are my thoughts: • They should retire those damn wings on Gizele. It was Adriana’s on 2013 and Romee’s on 2015 and I’ve seen it on a couple of commercials too. They’re beautiful wings but enough with the recycling. • Liu Wen should stop walking for this show. Clearly, they don’t like her enough to give her decent oufits. Ever since 2009, she’s either gotten unremarkable outfits at best or shit outfits. At least, she looked great. • Martha’s body looked phenomenal. She has to have more control of her arms when she walks, though. • Elsa’s face did look different this year. If she really had work done, her old face was better. Still gorgeous nonetheless. • Barbara F’s body looked great, per usual. I was never a fan of her face but she looked stunning on the runway • Nadine looks like Erin in some of her backstage photos. • Shame that Toni only got one outfit. One of the best faces and bodies of the show and only one outfit • Excluding the mess that was the Mary K segment, the outfits were less covered up this year which I’m very happy about. In previous years, the outfit would either cover their torso or their legs, sometimes both . So it’s nice to see a handful of outfits that showcased both. Also having fewer tacky thigh high boots are always a plus. • I wish they opened with a remix. When they open with a performer, they usually use their highest profile performer, right? They hired a bunch of b-list singers for this show and they let the d-list singer open the show! Lol. • I don’t find Candice’s Golden Angels outfit ugly. Maybe she just carried it extremely well but they don’t look that bad to me. • Speaking of Golden Angels, can someone explain to me how the name relates to the outfits? I don’t think there was a single gold element on that section. Am I taking it to literally? • Finally, it was a better show than 2017 but that’s a low bar to clear. They really need to fire Sophia and hire a new creative director. That woman’s taste is just so questionable. Sorry that was all over the place. Hopefully, we get a good edit on ABC.

An underrated outfit that no one ever talks about is Inguna Butane’s Ballet de Fleurs. Dare I say the best non-winged outfit ever?

Why are people taking out Elsa and Romee for segment openings / closings? Have we gotten confirmation from a source where VS will not give you an opening / closing if you’ve gotten something big? I know it worked out like this last year but just the year before that Josephine got the SO + a segment opening.

Romee looks great. The bodysuit looks good. The wings are terrible. Sophia has got to stop with these 2 dimensional wings. When I first saw it, 2015’s Firework segment came to mind. I had to think back if they recycled an element from that segment. Honestly, this outfit fit that segment more than the Celestial theme they’re going for. Hopefully, it looks better in the actual show / in motion. But this is pretty disappointing for an SO.

Agreed. One thing that Lily has going for her is that she’s very photogenic. She almost always puts out great photos. But the photos we got from that shoot was garbage.

Yeah... Lily will never be my favourite angel but I was happy she got an FB after years of hard work for the brand. But every step of the way they messed it up even more. Firstly, it was a poorly designed bra. Then, it fitted poorly. They put the red bra underneath to compensate for the fit and it made the bra look cheaper than it already did. And as a cherry on top, they gave her these god awful wings. I know it was supposed to look like fireworks but it looked more like diseased sea urchins to me. Probably, one of the worst “wings” VS has ever made and they paired it with an FB.

As far as I know, she didn’t attend castings this year. She also seemed pretty bitter in social media about not getting invited last year. Also, she’s under contract with Etam, along with Constance. And it seems like they don’t let their contract girls participate in the VSFS.
