Veronica Varekova was dominant, as expected, and Julie Ordon & Daniella Sarahyba also had no issues at all. The tougher tests for all will be in their next matches. Group StageGroup 45:Michelle Behennah (54.3%) defeated Amber Noelle Ehresmann (45.7%)Group 41:Judit Masco (72.3%) defeated Beri Smither (27.7%)Group 12:(12) Daniela Pestova (90.5%) defeated Elvira Ulla (9.5%) My spin:The match between Michelle Behennah and Amber Noelle Ehresmann turned out to be a doozy. A full 25% of the voters actually couldn’t decide and voted for both models! In the end, Michelle had just enough support from the 75% of more decisive voters, and she prevailed. Kim Cloutier’s margin of victory was the largest of the 2015 tournament so far, and supermodels Petra Nemcova and Rachel Hunter cruised to victories. Things won't be easy for long for Kim and Rachel, though. Tyra has struggled in past tournaments, while Stephanie has had some big wins. Group StageGroup 64:Gigi Hadid (74.0%) defeated Caprice Bourret (26.0%)Group 29:Elsa Benitez (56.1%) defeated May Andersen (43.9%)Group 51:Monica Bellucci (60.8%) defeated Bridget Hall (39.2%) My spin:Three interesting matches! Gigi Hadid got about 3/4 of the vote against a decent challenger, so that was impressive. Incidentally, her recent Twitter post addressing the people criticising her “non runway” body type made me a fan of hers despite not caring much for her up until then.Elsa Benitez and May Andersen were quite close the whole way, but in the end Elsa prevailed. That was a tough draw for May, who was 4-2 with an average vote percentage over 60% coming into the match. Given that Elsa’s remaining opponent is the overmatched 1960s model Mary Sturdevant, May’s fate as a Group Stage victim is likely sealed.Monica Bellucci pulled off an upset, of sorts. Her ranking is 124 compared to Bridget Hall’s 74, but my pre-tournament odds gave them the same chance at winning their group.
