Posted May 27, 20213 yr Collette Roberts is a fashion model and pop singer from New Zealand that worked professionally throughout the 80s and is well known as one of Dolly magazine's cover girls- a very hip and popular teen magazine in Australia in the 80s & 90s. She is currently still modeling and is represented by Spectrum (Sydney). "Collette Roberts (born 1968), who performed mononymously as Collette, is a New Zealand-born, Australian-based model turned disco, pop singer during the late 1980s and early 1990s. She had a top five single on both the Australian and New Zealand singles charts in 1989 with her cover version of Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell". Collette's rendition was certified gold in Australia by ARIA. Sometimes considered a one-hit wonder, Collette had two other top 40 Australian hits in 1989 with "All I Wanna Do Is Dance" and "That's What I Like About You". She retired from her music career in 1995 and focused on her work as a stylist and make-up artist." "Collette Roberts was born in Christchurch, New Zealand.[1] She became a fashion model and relocated to Melbourne.[2] In 1988 she started working with Guy Gross in Sydney to co-write material for her proposed solo career.[3] They recorded demo tracks, which they took to Tony Briggs of CBS Records Australia; Briggs advised Roberts to attempt a cover version of one of four tracks, which included Anita Ward's 1979 hit, "Ring My Bell".[3] After recording a demo of that track, she was signed to CBS.[3]" -Excerpts from Wikipedia Additional links about Collette: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collette_Roberts https://ro.uow.edu.au/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?referer=https://www.google.com/&httpsredir=1&article=2536&context=alr https://alchetron.com/Collette-Roberts http://www.spectrumagency.com.au/women/details/collette-roberts Height: 5'9" (1.75) Hair: Blond Eyes: Blue Nationality: New Zealand

May 27, 20213 yr Author I LOVE the style of Dolly magazine layouts in the 80s!! The clothes are too fun...I do have one complaint about Dolly mag in the 80s and that is it's near complete lack of diversity in their models. Nearly all are white girls with blond hair...okay sometimes white girls with brown hair. 😋 I really think more diverse models would have been great with the fashion of the time!! They missed out.
