Willy van Rooy, was born in The Hague, Holland, where she attended the Academy of Fine Arts Fashion department ( in Rotterdam). She was a topmodel in London, Paris and NY before she started designing accessories for Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld. It was also in Paris that she designed and produced her famous  Tunique Unique which was sold all over the world and worn by many celebrities. In the 80-ties she moved to Spain where she designed and produced her own Shoe-line WILLY VAN ROOY for 10 years with great success and worn by many artists like Cher, the Pointer sisters, Madonna and many other wonderful women. In the 90-ties she lived in Los Angeles where for 2 years she was the private designer for Paula Abdul and made a jewelry collection, In 1997 she returned to Holland after an absence for more then 30 years and designed one of a kind accessories. She now lives in Oregon, USA, where she is making jewelry for sale on internet at ETSY. She had an exhibition of all her work in Madrid, Spain, and is in many books: a.o. La Dictionaire the la Mode (France) books on YSL, Helmut newton, Karl Lagerfeld and MY LOVE IN CLOSE-UP by her husband for 40 years, painter Salvador Maron. Apart from english she is fluent in French, Spanish and Dutch, can draw, sew, paint, photograph and work the Photoshop if you like to know more…
