So excited to share I've signed with a new agency: womenmanagementla women360mgmt -whose philosophy centers on respect, trust, humanity, ethics and social responsibility. After 11 years of full time modeling, I'm still so grateful for this job. No doubt this career has its advantages, but it can be quite challenging at the same time. People are often curious about these challenges- and being back in school has given me space to reflect on some of them: 😦 Dealing with the pressures of always having to "look your best." 📸 Agreeing to commodify your appearance, therefore inviting others to critique your appearance at their leisure. 🩹 Integrating hurtful experiences into your own self concept & body image. Despite the complexities of a career in front of the camera, I can't deny the breadth of experiences I've had because of it. My time in the modeling industry led to a natural curiosity about cultures different than my own, which very much inspired me to become a researcher/ clinician. Women's thoughtful, hands on approach is renewing my love for modeling & I'm grateful to be with an agency who supports me as I navigate my dichotomous careers ♥️
