Mark Webber and David Coulthard are reasonably happy with their qualifying result of 10th and 13th for the Red Bull team. Mark Webber did well to oust Heikki Kovalainen in the dying seconds of Q2 to make it into Q3 and but is disappointed to not improve on tenth fastest.

David Coulthard said: "I was reasonably satisfied with the car today, so it's a shame not have got into the top ten. We had a few problems through practice, but a couple of tenths would have put me in the final qualifying session. I didn't go quick enough on my final lap and lost the back end in Turn four. I think we've had fewer issues with the car here compared to Australia, and other teams have shuffled around the order too. Renault seems to have dropped down a little and Toyota has popped up, I think people are moving around in these warmer track conditions."

Mark Webber said: "It would have been nicer to be a bit further up, but that's probably where we are. It was very tight in Q2, but we managed to put in a lap in that got us in to Q3. In the last qualifying session, we decided to pit early, as we thought it was going to rain. Ten minutes either way, and it could have been a good call, but you have to make decisions when you're out there and that's what the guys thought was the right thing to do at the time. We're in the middle of the field for tomorrow's race, so we'll see what we can do then."

Engine change for Barrichello and Coulthard

07 April 2007

Rubens Barrichello and David Coulthard will have to start Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix from the back of the grid. The duo both changed their engine on Saturday evening.

At Honda the team is suffering from a lack of performance at the moment. Both Jenson Button and his team-mate Rubens Barrichello were unable to impress so far this season. To make things even worse Rubens Barrichello, who qualified in 19th position today, will receive a grid-penalty for his engine change that will put him at the 22nd position.

David Coulthard qualified in thirteenth position, but the Red Bull Racing driver will now start from 21st as the team had to change his Renault engine.
