The condition is known as Heterochromia iridium.

I know a lot of water has passed under the bridge since, but I think it's more accurate to say Kate Bosworth has Heterochromia iridis (a difference in color between the parts of one iris).

If you look closely at her right eye (on the left side of the picture), you can see she essentially has two blue eyes (not a blue and a hazel eye as commonly assumed), and that the lower part of her right iris is discolored, or rather, it seems as though she might have sustained an injury in her childhood, and that a little bit of blood stained her lower right iris.
