September 6, 200915 yr Michael Phelps' Top 5 Competition Tips!1. Block out distractions: Figure out the best way for you to get ready for a race, whether it's like me by listening to music and focusing on a single object, or something else, whatever works for you.2. Eat light before a race: Carbs provide for quick energy, a huge plus in racing. Try and stay away from protein, it takes your body too long to convert to energy.3. Get yourself into the right mindset before a race: Remember: You have done all you can. You love what you're doing, enjoy it! Let go and perform.4. Stretch every day, but especially before you compete: Stretching prevents injury, loosens up your muscles, and helps performance.5. Recovery is extremely important. I always drink PureSport Recovery after I exercise.
