April 8, 200718 yr Liverpool boss Benitez can land Real Madrid's Raul on cheapLiverpool boss Rafa Benitez could be given the chance to sign Real Madrid captain Raul on the cheap in the summer.DiarioSport says Real president Ramon Calderon and sports director Pedja Mijatovic are seriously considering bringing down the curtain on Raul's time at the club.Having added youngsters Gonzalo Higuain, Fernando Gago and Marcelo in January, Calderon wants to continue overhauling the current squad over the summer and is weighing up showing the club captain the door.Raul still has three years left on his contract, but admitted earlier this season that he would only stay with Real for "as long as they want me". Like the striker, Calderon is also anxious to avoid any controversy should he decide time's up and would be prepared to smooth his move away by asking only a nominal fee for the 29 year-old.Raul has been a regular visitor to Anfield since Benitez's appointment and the Liverpool manager remains a big fan of the Spanish star. The chance to work with one of his country's modern day greats would be difficult for Benitez to pass up - particularly should Calderon be reasonable on the price.
April 8, 200718 yr Real Madrid's Raul closer to Liverpool move Liverpool are ready to move for Real Madrid captain Raul. The News of the World says Rafael Benitez has been tipped off Real's skipper will be sold at a cut-price £5million at the end of the season. And the Kop boss is in pole position to snap up the striker, who has been revered by Bernabeu fans for the last seven years. A Madrid source revealed: "Real president Ramon Calderon is starting to think it is time to overhaul the squad and bring in younger and fresher players." Raul's agent, Gines Carvajal, declared: "If he leaves Real his destination would be easy to choose. It would be England."
April 8, 200718 yr It's not gonna happen Everyone is just speculating and making news for no reason. Raul's heart is for Real Madrid and I think he will fulfill his contract duties before he makes any decision to move. Back to football, we need to win tonight. Barca & Valencia lost last night so we have to win against Osasuna even though it will be tough. LET'S PUT ALL OUR POSITIVE ENERGY ON THE TEAM SHOWING US HOW GREAT THEY CAN BE!
