Every week, Bazaar's booking team highlights one name to note, from the industry's best-known faces to girls who are just starting out. This week, we turn our attention to Dasha Khlystun.

As one of the breakout stars of the spring/summer 2017 season, the Ukranian newcomer Dasha Khlystun made an impact at all the right shows, walking Kenzo, Hermès, Givenchy, Stella McCartney, Missoni, Versace, Fendi as well as securing the coveted opening slot at Chloé.

Thanks to early support from Anthony Vaccarello whose runway at Saint Laurent has provided a promising start to many careers, Khlystun delivered a solid catwalk debut (and bagged a starring role in the brand's autumn/winter 16 campaign) and after displaying a look unlike anyone else in Paris, she has set the stage for a fantastic post-season. The 20-year-old's wide blue-eyed look is reminiscent of the baby doll models of the early 2000s, and it's only a matter of time before key photographers and stylists take note.

"Dasha has a strong personality, she is very emotive and sensitive," says Mathias Pardo at MC2 Models. "You can always understand from her eyes if she is happy or not, I think she has great skills and is very captivating. When you put her in front of a camera she is pretty incredible and I see a huge potential in her."

We chat to Dasha about being discovered through social media, a career in law and walking for Dior.

How were you discovered?

"I was discovered two years ago in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine through the use of social media. I received a direct message from a woman from a local model agency and I went in to meet her, and here I am today."

If you weren't modelling, what career would you pursue and why?

"If I wasn't modelling right now, I would love to pursue a career in law and become a lawyer, it was what my parents always wanted for me."

What would you say has been the highlight of your career so far?

"The biggest highlight for me was definitely walking for the Dior show in Paris. The clothes were absolutely incredible and when you are in those beautiful Parisian settings it can make you feel very emotional."

How do you spend your free time?

"I work hard, so when I'm not working my priority is to really relax and have a healthy lifestyle. I'm a very calm person and like to go to the spa for a massage when I can and if I could, I'd love to travel more often."

Do you have any travel tips for those visiting your hometown?

"I'm from a very small town in the Ukraine called Dnepropetrovsk. There is a beautiful forest there, it is really lovely and calming – the perfect place to relax."

What is the one product you can't live without?

"My iPhone."

What's your favourite form of exercise?

"Almost every morning I complete ten pushups and fifty abdominal crunches."

What is your dream shoot?

"One day I would love to do a shoot for Givenchy shot by Nick Knight. I would love for Riccardo Tisci to be there, I like him a lot and think that he is incredibly talented."

Name your five essential items you wouldn't leave the house without?

"My iPhone, headphones, cigarettes, lipstick and obviously my keys."

If you had to wear only one designer, who would it be?

"Givenchy, always."

What kind of advice would you give to new girls to the industry?

"Work hard and enjoy every single moment of what is happening to you, we get to travel and meet so many incredible people all of the time. As a model you will need a lot of preparation and self-control and lastly, always listen to your agent!"

Is there a model's career that you admire and why?

"I admire Adriana Lima, she is a dream and is so beautiful. A gorgeous Brazilian with a great attitude, she has such great energy."

…food? "Pasta or pizza, I think deep down I might be Italian."
