December 23, 20168 yr Harper's Bazaar UK Quote Every week, Bazaar's booking team highlights one name to note, from the industry's best-known faces to girls who are just starting out. This week, we turn our attention to Lululeika Ravn Liep. After a debut year as a Vuitton exclusive, 18-year-old Lululeika Ravn Liep continues to be an elegant presence on the catwalk for some of the world's most prestigious labels, making walking for Valentino, Marc Jacobs, Victoria Beckham, Prada and Gucci appear effortless. Off duty, the Danish model carries herself with a graceful charm that has caught the eye of editors and street-style photographers alike. "Lululeika has a wide-eyed uniqueness and amazing Scandi style," says Daniel Robson of Premier Model Management. "She'll rock into the agency straight from a flight, all in monochrome with a white suitcase and look like she's just stepped off a set, but it's in such a non-self-conscious way. Importantly, she is also such a sweet girl that she could win over even the hardest of casting agents – and that's half the job!" Proving that Danish models will continue to dominate the runways (fellow Danes Freja Beha Erichsen, Josephine Skriver and Helena Christensen are considered industry icons), Ravn Liep will undeniably be a face to recognise for seasons to come. We chat to the newcomer about space, visiting Denmark and carrying lucky charms. How were you discovered? "I was discovered for the first time on the street in Copenhagen – I was 15 at the time and cycling home from school." If you weren't modelling, what career would you pursue? "I always wanted to be a space scientist – I've always loved space! Otherwise, I'd like to do something to make the planet better." What would you say has been the highlight of your career so far? "I think it must be when I walked my first show for Louis Vuitton and afterwards shot with Juergen Teller. It was my first show ever, so it was a big experience for me." How do you spend your free time? "I like to go for walks and discover new places, even in my own small city. My sister has a dog so we go for many walks together. I also like to spend time with friends, having fun or just drinking good coffee. I really like to draw, take pictures and watch a lot of movies." Do you have any travel tips for those visiting your hometown? "The botanical garden in Copenhagen is one of my favourite places to get away from the city. Norrebro, where I live, is my all-time favourite area for cafés, small shops and to go out. Finally, Louisiana (Museum of modern art) is located little bit farther out the city, but I would say it is is the best museum you will find in Europe." What are the three products you can't live without? "My Mason Pearson hairbrush, a lip balm (right now, I'm using Rosebud Salve) and Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré." What's your favourite form of exercise? "I train and do barre (ballet-inspired) workouts as I can do them everywhere, even when I am travelling. If I lived near water, I would love to swim all of the time." What is your dream shoot? "A campaign shot in the wild would be very cool." Name the five essential items you wouldn't leave the house without "This might be a bit strange, but I have a small purse with various lucky things that I always bring with me. I also bring my phone everywhere like everyone else, my bamboo cutlery set (so that I don't use disposable), a book or a notebook if there is a lot of waiting time where I'm going and water in my Klean Kanteen." If you had to wear only one designer, who would it be? "It could be pretty cool to only wear Louis Vuitton." What kind of advice would you give to new girls to the industry? "Everyone says it, but always be yourself." Is there a model's career that you admire and why? "Freja Beha Erichsen because she has made, and still does, so many different things in fashion. She does everything and she's just totally herself." Let's talk about favourites. What's your favourite… …music? "I love so many different kinds of music, from rap to jazz to pop to classic and so on, but right now I'm listening to 'Who Be Lovin' Me' by Santigold featuring iLoveMakonnen a lot." …films? "I love Star Wars and Twin Peaks, and I also like to watch documentaries." …books? "All the classics, and for inspiration I love to read How to be a Parisian." …food? "Anything with ginger and all spicy food." source: TFS
