April 30, 200817 yr Iselin News Norwegian Iselin is Zara's new face Iselin Steiro (22) hasn't giveen up her modelling career if anyone would think so. This spring she fronts high street shop Zara's worldwide campaign. It's a good source of income, Iselin writes in an e-mail to Dagbladet. She's sick and doesn't want to meet us for an interview. Exactly how much the Zara campaign for spring/summer gives her in kroner (the Norwegian currency), is not something Iselin screams out. Modeldad Pål Vassotten comes with a careful suggestion: - What Zara pays vary from what kind of models they use. I know they've had contracts with top models for up to 1 million kroner ( approximately 200 000 USD). I don't think the prices are that high today, but I wouldn't be surprised if Iselin got half a million kroner for the job. Iselin was once ranged as the fourth most popular model by www.models.com. She worked with the best photographers and was on the covers of magazines like Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. By the beginning of 2007 the girl, who had just turned 20, said stop. At least that's what her local newspaper said. I have never said that I wanted to quit modelling, Iselin writes to Dagbladet with two exclamation marks. Besides, that's not how it works. You get job offers and you take them whether you want to or not. I've started studying, and don't have time for much. That I'm in Norway makes international modelling even more difficult, but I take jobs sometimes if I can and want. What do you mean by "and you take them whether you want to or not"? My agency gets inquiries from clients (like Zara or French Vogue etc..) if I am "free" to do a job a specific day. My agency asks me, and I answer yes or no if I can/want or not. Thanks to openings of new shops in short time, Zara has passed H&M as Europes biggest chain store. But they're also all over the world, from China to the US. The campaign means that Iselin figures on big boards in the stores and in ads in magazines. Iselin, however, is not a frequently guest at Zara. I rarely buy clothes at all! And then it's usually second hand. But, yes it has happened. She studies arcitecture in Oslo and lives with her boyfriend; actor, doctor and columnist in Dagbladet Fredag, Anders Danielsen Lie (29). Iselin says she enjoys studying, but that she doesn't turn down new modelling jobs. - It's a good source of income, it really is. Besides, it's nice to get to travel and see a completely different environt than you see at home. I think you might get wiser from it?
