Not satisfied after defeat at Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday, Calderon called a meeting with Capello, which was also sat in on by sports chief Pedja Mijatovic and director Franco Baldini. AS says Capello did not mince words and demanded that Ronaldo be sold as soon as possible. The Italian told Calderon that Ronaldo had broken team rules on multiple occasions and was a bad influence on the club's younger players. "If you can, you must sell him during the winter market," demanded Capello. "I do not want him as part of my project." Capello also admitted to Calderon that veteran signings Emerson and Fabio Cannavaro had failed him, that he wanted Antonio Cassano to follow Ronaldo out the door this month and on David Beckham, he said: "Do not renew his contract."
