Lajoie made his acting debut in 2011 in the filming of the third season of the popular television series ’30 Vies’ in Quebec. Thanks to his exposure in televion, he was discovered by Guillaume Lambert who introduced him to his first audition for the acclaimed film ‘Gerontophilia’ playing the role of Lake, a young man who takes a job in a nursing home and develops a romantic and sexual attraction to a senior citizen resident in the facility. Guillaume Lambert discovered me there and it’s because of him that I had an audition (first I ever did in my life) for this movie called Gerontophilia from Bruce Labruce. I ended up landing a leading role. Then, I shot with Gus Van Sant (who saw me in Gerontophilia) for British GQ. The stylist who was on that shoot works for Calvin Klein and sent images of me to his team. They liked me. It all started there!
