Today’s results are in!

Group 28

Hilary Rhoda (55.0%) defeated Kim Alexis (45.0%)

Libby Otis (71.4%) defeated Jane Gill (28.6%)

Group 29

Daniella Sarahyba (88.9%) defeated Lana Ogilvie (11.1%)

Isabeli Fontana (90.0%) defeated Elvira Ulla (10.0%)

Group 30

Cintia Dicker (84.2%) defeated Tannia Rubiano (15.8%)

Estelle Lefebure (83.3%) defeated Coco Mitchell (16.7%)

My spin:

Hilary Rhoda took home the Group 28 title, but second place finisher Kim Alexis is looking good for a wild card spot.

In Group 29, two models dominated the group from start to finish. Daniella Sarahyba wins the group by virtue of the tiebreaker, while Isabeli Fontana is a shoo-in for a wild card spot.

Finally, Group 30 will have only one model advancing: first place finisher Cintia Dicker.

Today’s results are in!

Group 31

Chandra North (52.9%) defeated Amber Smith (47.1%)

Alyssa Miller (76.2%) defeated Kathryn Redding (23.8%)

Group 32

Jessica White (70.6%) defeated Sheila Roscoe (29.4%)

Sue Peterson (57.1%) defeated Mary Sturdevant (42.9%)

Group 33

Angie Everhart (75.0%) defeated Jenna de Rosnay (25.0%)

Pania Rose (76.2%) defeated Adaora Akubilo (23.8%)

My spin:

Not much to say tonight, because I’m in a rush!  :)  Alyssa Miller and Angie Everhart joined the list of group winners, and Vanessa Lorenzo sat back and enjoyed the fact that she had already clinched first place in her group.

Today’s results are in!

Group 34

Michelle Behennah (61.1%) defeated Fernanda Motta (38.9%)

Eva Herzigova (90.5%) defeated Rosie de la Cruz (9.5%)

Group 35

Kate Bock (52.0%) defeated Esti Ginzburg (48.0%)

Shannan Click (90.9%) defeated Georgianna Robertson (9.1%)

Group 36

Genevieve Morton (85.7%) defeated Mallory Snyder (14.3%)

Estella Warren (65.0%) defeated Kirby Griffin (35.0%)

My spin:

Eva Herzigova finished up an undefeated run thru the Group Stage and wrapped up first place in Group 34 with her dominating win over Rosie de la Cruz. Eva gets the First Round bye and will face Emily Ratajkowski in her first Knockout Stage match. Meanwhile, Michelle Behennah and Fernanda Motta are both comfortably on the good side of the wild card cut line, so they’re likely also on their way to the Knockout Stage.

In Group 35, Kate Bock narrowly defeated Esti Ginzburg to remain unbeaten and take home first place in the group. Kate will face a tough test in her first Knockout Stage match, as #21 Nina Agdal comes knocking. Shannan Click won her match against Georgianna Robertson to finish 3-1, but she’s still on the wrong side of the cut line, so her tournament will be over. Esti Ginzburg, on the other hand, performed better than Shannan overall, and she’s on the good side of the cut line despite finishing at 2-2 in the Group Stage. Again, every vote counts! :)

Genevieve Morton continued her domination of Group 36, as she ruined Mallory Snyder’s 2014 tournament hopes. Mallory entered the match in position to advance as a wild card, but her spanking at the hands of Genevieve drops her well below the cut line and ends her tournament for this year. Estella Warren improved to 3-1, but her wins were not convincing enough to bring her anywhere near the wild card spot, either. So, Group 36 will have only one participant in the Knockout Stage, but what a one it is. Genevieve will face  #17 Rebecca Romijn in her first Knockout Stage match, which should be an awesome one.

Finally, a check on the wild card standings. With today’s developments, Cheryl Tiegs finds herself back on the good side of the cut line, as she’s now the last one in the Knockout Stage. The first four out - Michelle Vawer, Sarah O’Hare, Tori Praver, and Emily DiDonato - are still hoping for some help to move into the next stage.

Today’s results are in!

Group 37

Josie Maran (90.5%) defeated Ann Simonton (9.5%)

Ana Beatriz Barros (72.2%) defeated Marilyn Tindall (27.8%)

Group 38

Hannah Davis (70.6%) defeated Janelle Fishman (29.4%)

Maria Joao (93.3%) defeated Navia Nguyen (6.7%)

Group 39

Frankie Rayder (52.6%) defeated Ingrid Seynhaeve (47.4%)

Melissa Baker (82.4%) defeated Tamara Spoelder (17.6%)

My spin:

Josie Maran finished off a dominating Group Stage with another easy victory, and Ana Beatriz Barros will surely settle in as a wild card.

Group 39 came down to the wire, and Melissa Baker emerged to capture first place in the group! Ingrid Seynhaeve had come into the last match as the group leader, and a win would have clinched first place. But, Ingrid narrowly lost to Frankie Rayder and Melissa won a lopsided match against Tamara Spoelder to create a three-way tie atop the table. Each model was 3-1, but Melissa wins the tiebreaker and advances to face Hilary Rhoda in the Knockout Stage. Ingrid is still holding on to a wild card spot, though, and Frankie’s win wasn’t large enough to get her on the good side of the cut line. So, it’s looking a lot like Frankie will be an unfortunate 3-1 model to miss the Knockout Stage.

In Group 38, Hannah Davis had an easy victory over Janelle Fishman to claim first place. Hannah goes on to face #19 Ashley Richardson in the Knockout Stage, while Janelle’s huge loss tumbled her out of the wild card spot she previously occupied.

Janelle’s loss was Michelle Vawer’s gain, as she now finds herself on the good side of the cut line. Current “last 4 in”: Michelle Vawer, Cheryl Tiegs, Rachel Roberts, Hannah Ferguson. Current “last 4 out”: Sarah O’Hare, Tori Praver, Emily DiDonato, Jessica Van Der Steen. There are still 8 more groups to finish before that wild card picture will be fully developed.

Today’s results are in!

Group 40

Cindy Crawford (83.3%) defeated Patricia Velasquez (16.7%)

Crystal Renn (61.1%) defeated Oluchi Onweagba (38.9%)

Group 41

Kim Cloutier (76.2%) defeated Manon Von Gerkan (23.8%)

Raica Oliveira (76.5%) defeated Yvonne Sylvander (23.5%)

Group 42

Michelle Lombardo (58.8%) defeated Sarah O’Hare (41.2%)

Julie Ordon (73.7%) defeated Shakara Ledard (26.3%)

My spin:

Cindy Crawford dominated again, took home the Group 40 title, and became the #1 model in the 2014 tournament based on performance. She hasn’t had incredibly tough competition, but that is about to change. Cindy will move on to face Judit Masco in the Second Round of the Knockout Stage, and #1 seed Elle Macpherson likely lurks in the next round.

In Group 41, Kim Cloutier dominated Manon Von Gerkan and claimed first place. She will move on to face Carolyn Murphy in her first Knockout Stage match. Emily DiDonato finished in 2nd place in the group, at 3-1, but that may not be enough to get her into the Knockout Stage. Emily is currently the “last one out”, right there on the wrong side of the cut line for a wild card spot. With only 5 more groups in play, the window of opportunity is closing to get help from someone else.

Finally, Julie Ordon won first place in Group 42, which is a surprise to me. Going into the tournament, I thought either Sarah O’Hare or Michelle Lombardo would be the favorites in the group, but Julie finishes at 4-0 and moves on to face Cintia Dicker in the Knockout Stage. Sarah and Michelle are both eliminated, as they’re hovering around the 100th spot in the wild card rankings.

Today’s results are in!

Group 43

Jessica Perez (59.3%) defeated Niki Taylor (40.7%)

Laetitia Casta (86.2%) defeated Jamee Becker (13.8%)

Group 44

Kelly Emberg (55.6%) defeated Yvette Sylvander (44.4%)

Gigi Hadid (86.4%) defeated Sunny Bippus (13.6%)

Group 45

Rachel Roberts (78.9%) defeated Roshumba Williams (21.1%)

Britta Dubbels (68.4%) defeated Lena Kansbod (31.6%)

My spin:

Laetitia Casta claimed first place in Group 43, and she will go on to face #22 Elsa Benitez in the Knockout Stage. Jessica Perez will also advance as a wild card.

In Group 44, rookie Gigi Hadid wrapped up first place and will be matched up against Julie Henderson. Kelly Emberg will also advance as a wild card after she took care of Yvette Sylvander.

Group 45 was already wrapped up by rookie Bregje Heinen before this round began, so Rachel Roberts was playing for a wild card spot in this one. Good for her, as she beat Roshumba Williams easily and will advance to the Knockout Stage as a wild card.

These results nearly cemented the wild card standings, and it looks like Michelle Vawer will be on the good side of the cut line and Emily DiDonato will be on the wrong side. There are still two groups to play, but the rankings of the models around the cut line are unlikely to be affected.

Today’s results are in, and the Group Stage is now finished!

Group 46

Angela Lindvall (80.0%) defeated Maria Von Hartz (20.0%)

Juliana Martins (54.5%) defeated Carre Otis (45.5%)

Group 47

Damaris Lewis (55.6%) defeated Naomi Campbell (44.4%)

Sara Sampaio (58.3%) defeated Selita Ebanks (41.7%)

My spin:

Angela Lindvall took home the Group 46 title with her dominating win over Maria Von Hartz. Juliana Martins finished second in the group, but she also finished well below the cut line for a wild card berth. So, only Angela will advance from the group, and she’ll face #18 Vendela Kirsebom in the Knockout Stage.

Sara Sampaio won Group 47 and became the 4th 2014 rookie to win her group, joining Emily Ratajkowski, Gigi Hadid, and Bregje Heinen. In total, an amazing 8 rookies advanced to the Knockout Stage, as Lauren Mellor, Marloes Horst, Samantha Hoopes, and Hannah Ferguson all claimed wild card berths. So, nearly 10% of the surviving 81 models were not in last year’s tournament. Lots of new contenders this year, and what a great rookie class! :)

Wild Card Matches (rank in parenthesis):

Esti Ginzburg vs. (20) Rachel Hunter - winner faces (1) Elle Macpherson

Michelle Vawer vs. Isabeli Fontana - winner faces Natasha Barnard

Monika Schnarre vs. Michelle Behennah - winner faces (11) Christie Brinkley

Kristy Hinze vs. Carol Alt - winner faces (8) Brooklyn Decker

Malia Jones vs. Jessica Perez - winner faces (7) Irina Shayk

Melissa Haro vs. Rachel Roberts - winner faces (12) Kate Upton

Hannah Ferguson vs. Marloes Horst - winner faces (10) Anne Vyalitsyna

Samantha Hoopes vs. Chandra North - winner faces (2) Kathy Ireland

The Knockout Stage begins tomorrow, November 27, Thanksgiving Day in the USA. So, you have another thing to be thankful for. :)

Today’s results are in!

Knockout Stage - First Round

Esti Ginzburg (77.8%) defeated (20) Rachel Hunter (22.2%)

Esti Ginzburg advances to the Second Round to face (1) Elle Macpherson

Isabeli Fontana (63.0%) defeated Michelle Vawer (37.0%)

Isabeli Fontana advances to the Second Round to face Natasha Barnard

My spin:

Alright, the Knockout Stage is here, and every match from here on out will start to be difficult!

Well, almost… Esti Ginzburg had a far easier time with Rachel Hunter than I would have imagined. I anticipated a close match, but Esti blew Rachel away and will face #1 ranked Elle Macpherson next. Can Esti pull off the upset? Or even keep it close?

Isabeli Fontana and Michelle Vawer were relatively close in their match, but the Isabeli stretched the lead out a bit in the last couple of days of voting and won going away. The next Isabeli vs. Natasha Barnard match should be a great one.
