Introduce yourself: I’m Daphne Krooneman, I’m from the Netherlands and I’m 18 years old. How did you start with modelling? Between age 14 and 16, a lot of people wanted me to model, but it wasn’t professional so I quit. I didn’t had any great experiences while doing it and it gave me a complete other vision of the work. Then a photographer from a TV show asked me to become a model, with many doubts I ended up doing it, and that’s how I got to work with MaxModels. I was 16 at the time. What agency are you signed with? My mother agency is MaxModels, View management in Madrid and Karinmodels in Paris. What do you love the most about the work you do? Seeing so many faces, finding out how small this world really is. Seeing the most beautiful places. I always enjoy myself when I work. But when I work I’m very quiet and focused. What has been your best experience so far? I was searching for a new school education but I didn’t really knew what I wanted. Then I went to Paris to see some agencies, to maybe do some work in the holidays. Only 45 minutes after arriving in Paris I signed with Karin Models, a week later I was working in Paris. It was my first time modelling in another country. How has your work changed your life? I’ve become a lot more independent. But besides that I haven’t really changed. I always have the feeling, that it’s very fun to do, but the next day I’m doing my castings and work my ass of just like everybody else. It’s just work. And I also live in a very small town, so if one person knows something, the whole town does. Models are seen here as different, it might be very insecure at the beginning. When I went out, I always got so many questions and it was hard to dodge them, I’m not there to talk about my work, I’m there to have fun with my friends. I don’t really like all the attention. What’s your dream? Ending up happy, strong and healthy and I hope I marry the man of my reality not my dream. How do you prepare yourself for shoots? I try to get to bed early, grab my bag for things I absolutely can’t forget. And I just make sure I have clean washed hair, clean nails etc. How do you stay in shape? Doing my castings haha! No kidding, I’m slim of my own. I don’t have to do that much to be in shape. So I do little bit of cardio. How would you describe yourself? It always seems like I’m very confident but from the inside of course I’m not always that confident. Also I’m very down to earth about things. I’m very chaotic but I always have time for some good fun! How would you describe your personal style? Legging or jeans with a longshirt. I have nothing with dresses! Shirts with a print. I wear only heels if I’m not completely styled. I also love sneakers and the way I call them, my Pocahontas shoes and boots. Etc. I also always buy men blouses, I don’t like clothes that is to tight. I also have a weakness for vintagestores and I always have multiple rings and my black nailpolish. Would you want to design your own clothes? Yes, that would be something surreal, but very cool! Maybe later! What’s a typical day for Daphne? Well, everyday is different. I eat my breakfast, take a shower and do what’s expected of me that day. What are your hobbies? Seeing my friends and hanging out with them, going out and dance like nobody looks at you. after couple of beers i guess! Music is the love of my life and I also like to write my mind on paper.. poems, lyrics and stuff. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? Being happy with who you are, and always be yourself. Accept the way you are.. follow your feelings not your mind. well sometimes its better for think haha! How do you stand in life? I’m very grounded. What makes you happy? A big chocolate cake! Shoes, clothes and Polaroid movies! Which talent you wished you had? I wish I could draw real good, but unfortunately I can’t. Are you religious? Yes, but not really about doing things and not doing them. I’m very open, most people don’t think I’m religious but I know that my religion has helped me a lot. What has been on of the best days in your life? I think that has to be the day I arrived at Paris. Without any confidence to get some jobs there. Because, many people always told me: ‘You’re to commercial for Paris, not tall enough’. Then I said: ‘Maybe, But I’m going to try anyway’. And later that day I had an agency and a good one. Favourite Film: I always forget the names. I love watching Twilight. Favourite Artist: It depends on the way I’m feeling, I like listening to Rock from the 80’s.. rock music from now, and some electro. Favourite TV show: Gossip Girl, 90210, Sex And The City and Two And A Half Men Favourite Book: A lot.. but I suck at ending them. I’m reading the next one while I’m not even finished the other one. Favourite Magazine: Vogue, Elle, the Blend. Favourite piece of clothing you own: My black legging Favourite vacation spot: My first vacation without parents with my good friend Melanie.
