This is a great piece of work by Ms. Hardin, but the ideas behind this editorial -- Painting a white model black and titling the editorial "African Queen" -- just don't feel right. I don't understand why Numéro can't use an African American model or any model of African origin or descent.

I think it's about using blackface in an editorial featuring a white model and entitling it 'African Queen'— mockery and racism on Numéro's part IMO. This isn't the first time Numéro have done something like this before (the editorial with Constance in an afro). I, for one, find it offensive.
