I have to deep condition it a lot because it’s so fried—I’ve bleached it over twenty times. Yeah. We walked in today and they were like, ‘How do you want your hair?’ I came with mine natural, kind of curly, because fuck it, I’m not going to do my hair to go to a show. I normally do it kind of straight so they went with that. I never really wear makeup but every once in a while I’ll do crazy club-kid makeup—crazy eyes.” Agathe Mougin: “I’m from Paris, born and raised. I’ve also had my hair like this for three years, short and shaved on the sides. Normally it’s just a big wave up on top, but today they did something a little different. I’m never wearing makeup…this is just for the show.”

There’s a reason she gets noticed (and it’s not just the hot pink locks). Read more to find out what the 5’7 on-the-rise star had to say about lemons, purple lipstick, and dancing in the street. ELLE: What did you have for breakfast this morning? CF: I usually drink Ensures because I’m trying to gain weight. But this morning I just had, like, a hundred pineapples and a bunch of Kefirs. ELLE: What do you think about when you’re walking down the runway? CF: I don’t think anything. It’s weird—you’re thinking the whole time before and as soon as you start walking it’s just like, nothing is there. It’s kind of like sports. ELLE: How do you keep your energy up? CF: I just kind of naturally have a little too much energy. ELLE: What snack do you like to have between shows? CF: I like lemons. I’m really obsessed with lemons. That’s my favorite food. ELLE: What is your favorite thing about being in New York? CF: I can dance in the middle of the street and no one thinks I’m crazy. Well, nobody cares that I’m crazy. ELLE: What music have you been listening to? CF: I listen to dubstep. I’ve been listening to electronic music since I was like “this tall” because of my parents. ELLE: I like your pink hair. What was your inspiration? CF: I was unhappy with with my life. I had a horrible relationship, and a horrible boyfriend. I got out of it and I was still depressed. I dyed my hair pink and I didn’t care about anything anymore. ELLE: Any new makeup you’ve been into? CF: I always wear purple makeup. I just got some lipstick called Purple Haze. It’s Hemp Organics by Whole Foods.
