Puyol considering retirement

According to 'El Mundo Deportivo', Carles Puyol is weighing up leaving Barcelona and potentially hanging up his boots at the end of the season owing to his knee problems.

Puyol is alleged to have told his inner circle within the Barça dressing room, including several players and members of staff, that he could pack it in if things don't improve.

The defender is set to make a decision one way or another over the next few months, although he has not ruled out a move to the MLS in the US or to another less demanding league.

 

He has announced he is retiring. His final game will be against Atletico Madrid on May 18. If he can even play.
