Alexandra Sorina (* 17th September 1899 in Baranovichi, A native Alexandra Zwikewitsch, † 31st May 1973 in San Rafael, California, USA) was a Russian Actress.

Life

The native Belarusian Zwikewitsch Alexandra , the eldest of four siblings , wanted to actually become a concert pianist and studied the midst of World War I on the mother's request in St. Petersburg Dentistry. In 1917 the family fled the turmoil of revolution by PolandWhere the young dentist opened a practice . In Warsaw Antin was the attractive exile approached by a movie studio and asked if they would not like to work as a film actress. Subsequently, the UFA attention to the young artist and brought immediately after the war by Berlin.

In the German film of the 1920s than they did Alexandra Sorina Career and played quickly (partly supporting ) roles on the side of renowned colleagues like Harry Liedtke, Reinhold Schünzel, Emil Jannings, Asta Nielsen, Lionel Barrymore and Conrad Veidt. Last was her partner in their most important and best known film, the Austrian production Orlac hands, A classic of fantasy cinema. The transition to sound film - it was only with the part of a court lady in Despite Adolf' Rasputinwatch movie - Alexandra Sorina had little success , and after her marriage to the exiled Russian film producers Serge Otzoup (1886-1974) in 1932 , she left the film business.

While her husband in 1939 after Spain went , Alexandra Sorina stayed with her family in Berlin and worked as a translator and author titles of foreign films . bombed in 1943, Alexandra Sorina left the capital and found himself finally in 1945 in a refugee camp near Kassel one . In the following months , she returned briefly returned to acting and went with a PushkinUnits in theater - tour through the Western zones. Two years later , in 1947, she tried to keep her family and with smaller activities as a field worker and a picker in the Rhenish vineyards above water.

In 1949 she finally moved to the United States and settled in San Francisco down . There Alexandra Sorina jobbed as a nanny , kitchen help at the hospital and finally as a waitress labeling machine.
