September 11, 200915 yr Stefani's L.A.M.B. line comes out like a lion after 'rebirth' Her best feet forward: "I never thought it would turn out this good," Gwen Stefani says of her new L.A.M.B. collection, which she'll show Thursday at Fashion Week. Twenty-four hours before the launch of her revamped L.A.M.B. fashion line, Gwen Stefani, 39, surveys two long racks bearing the fruits of her summer's efforts. "I never thought it would turn out this good," she says, smiling as she traces the lines of an intricately tailored white jacket and opens it to reveal tie-dye silk lining. The lead singer of the recently reunited No Doubt reveals the self-described "rebirth" of her L.A.M.B. line today after working in recent months alongside new partner Manhattan International Trade Inc. Most items will range from $48 to $345, and the line mixes draped separates, sturdy jackets, skinny jeans and leopard accents in neutral colors with pops of electric purple, red and yellow. The line is a departure for Stefani, who wanted to inject more style and serious craftsmanship into L.A.M.B collections. "I'm really spoiled," says the red-carpet maven, who is often photographed running errands with her children in sky-high stilettos and her signature bright-red lips. Now, "these jeans are as good as anything I have," she says, showing off a pair of dark-wash tie-dye skinny jeans on her slender frame. Pregnancy, or the absence of it, is the hidden theme in Stefani's fashion rebirth. Sons Kingston, 3, and Zuma, 1, put Stefani on a yo-yo of weight gain and loss, and until recently, her closet was jammed with maternity clothes. (Her current super-trim figure is "no miracle," she says, noting it took eight months to lose the weight after Zuma's birth.) When Stefani launched L.A.M.B seven years ago, she envisioned staying home and planning a family. Today, she's still going 100 mph with husband Gavin Rossdale and sons cheering her on. "I don't get any sleep," she admits. Multiplatinum solo albums, a reunion tour and a hot new line aside, Stefani's priorities are her children. She carries flip-flops in her purse for a quick stiletto change so she can manage carrying 25-pound Kingston. And time goes all too fast with baby Zuma, who quit breast-feeding this summer. "I didn't want him to (quit), it felt like a total rejection," she says. "It was really hormonal, and trying to stop in the middle of the tour was insane." With her three guys attending the L.A.M.B. show Thursday (if naptime permits), her next task is writing for the upcoming No Doubt album. Then, there's her 40th birthday on Oct. 3. "I want a really big cake!" http://www.usatoday.com/life/lifestyle/fas...fani-lamb_N.htm
September 11, 200915 yr Gwen Stefani: Fashion & Family Gwen Stefani had a few of her biggest fans on hand to celebrate last night's launch of her new L.A.M.B. collection at New York Fashion Week: Her husband Gavin Rossdale and their entirely adorable boys Kingston, 3, and Zuma, 1. Gwen's 80s-inspired collection is earning rave reviews so far: "But oh what fun the clothes were – slinky overdyed jeans with slung down suspenders paired with a tough stretch biker blazer, coquettish blouses that casually fell off the shoulder," writes Newsday fashion blogger Anne Bratskeir, adding, "Definitely the way to channel your inner rock star. Speaking of which, when the smiley and svelte Stefani took her bow, well, natch, she fit right in with her models." September 10, 2009

September 13, 200915 yr L.A.M.B.'s Rock Star Casual“Casual, easy and accessible,” was how Gwen Stefani described her Spring 2010 collection for her seven-year-old fashion brand L.A.M.B., a smart and safe sentiment that she successfully executed in her 40 look series presented for an intimate audience at the M.A.C and Milk venue in downtown New York on Thursday, Sept. 10, the first day of New York fashion week. With her signature blonde pompadour, dressed in a blue military jacket and black silk parachute pants, Stefani politely took photos with star-struck fashionistas as she kept tabs on her two little boys, Kingston and Zuma Nesta Rock. The look was California casual with an abundance of draping - blousey tunics, harem pants and jersey dresses - in bright solids, tribal prints or tie-dyed, all perfect attire for next summer’s hot outdoor music festival. While not without some standard punk references, like a plaid corset and bomber jacket, judging by the number of models wearing only tights or no pants at all with their voluminous cocoon jackets, it brought to mind a more current musical reference, Lady Gaga. But for those inclined to wear pants, aside from the harem pants, there were also plenty of slouchy cropped silk or denim cargo pants. “They’re clothes that people want to wear everyday,” said Stefani before dashing backstage again with her husband Gavin Rossdale and kids in tow.http://www.fashionwiredaily.com/first_word...le.weml?id=2758

September 14, 200915 yr Fashionrules.com: AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH GWEN STEFANIFashionrules got a chance to converse with Gwen Stefani - rock star and LAMB designer - backstage at the Milk Studios before her Thursday afternoon presentation. Here’s what the fabulous and stylish Ms. Gwen had to tell us about her spring collection. - Merle GinsbergFASHION RULES: I love your grey motorcycle jacket. Is that the feeling of LAMB spring 2010?GWEN STEFANI: Absolutely! Wait till you see it in white! You know, I’ve been on tour for the last four and half months, and did this collection while I was on tour. Not only that, LAMB just changed companies that we work with, so this collection was the beginning of a new collaboration - it was a very big deal for us. I was feeling Africa, and wanted to give a nod to the eighties - but I also wanted to make clothes that were easy, comfortable and wearable. A lot of those really chic European collections just wouldn’t work for the kind of life we live in Los Angeles. I like extreme clothes for events, but for everyday, I like to keep it more simple.FASHION RULES: How does L.A. fit into your designs and collections?GWEN STEFANI: Well, I just moved houses, and I was so into the design of the new house that I was inspired by that - by L.A.’s architecture. And I do all of the designing on my collection from my L.A. house. Plus, I always go to Palace Costume - that’s where I get a lot of inspiration!FASHION RULES: There’s a lot of eighties styling here - leggings, plaid, grunge, punk, New Wave. Were you crazy into that, growing up in Orange County?GWEN STEFANI: It’s funny. At that time, I was more into Ska and reggae. I was more ska and mod. I was even dressing kind of ska and mod - so this is really my first time getting into the eighties - it’s kinda new to me! It’s weird the way it all comes back around. FASHION RULES: Who helped you style this show?GWEN STEFANI: My friend Paula Bradley. FASHION RULES: Are your kids going to come?GWEN STEFANI: Kingston won’t last through it - and he’s too young to like crowds! It’s probably better if they don’t come!FASHION RULES: Who did the hair and makeup?GWEN STEFANI: Danilo did the hair - he’s been doing my hair for years, and he’s an absolute genius. He just reads my mind. Donald Simrock did the makeup for MAC - I love the really blue winged eyeliner!
