November 12, 201014 yr Author By unamadridistaTSO got himself expelled at the end of the first half after receiving two warnings: the first for complaining about a decision, and the second for telling the referee, José Luis Paradas Romero, “vete a la mierda.”Paradas Romero wrote in the match report that he gave Mou two warnings: “in minute 37, the coach José Mário Dos Santos Félix Mourinho was cautioned for the following reason: he raised his arms, protesting a decision I had made.” Then came “in minute 37, the coach José Mário Dos Santos Félix Mourinho was expelled for the following reason: after he was warned, he came towards me and told me, “fuck off.” Go Mou!!!After Mou was expelled, he headed to the stands (but not before making some faces to show his displeasure) and sat down on some stairs.Upon seeing the situation, Miguel Gil Moreno, socio number 7,171, which he’s been since 1970, told Mou, “Señor Mourinho, don’t sit on the ground! This seat is mine, take it!” He told Marca, “I usually go up in the stands to sit with some friends who have their seats higher up, but when I saw the coach sit down on the ground, I went down to ask him to sit in my seat. The security guards told me to go back, but I told them no, that they had to ask Mourinho to sit in my seat. And in the end, he sat down.”And next to Mou was Pablo Bernal, a 21-year-old student. He said, “he didn’t say anything to me, he was concentrating very hard on the game. He looked quite calm, and didn’t seem to be too angry that he had been expelled. I didn’t say anything to him, but I took some photos and recorded some videos… My friends started sending me texts. One of them asked me to slap Mou on the back of the neck.”Of course, Pablo wasn’t the only one taking pictures of Mou. Lots of fans did. I love that!!!And they all saw how Mou continued coaching from his seat, including continuing to show his displeasure, giving out instructions and telling Cristiano to intensify his warm-up.In the second half, Julio Cendel, the head of security for the team, had to sit down next to Mou to protect him.It looks like Mou will miss the next game against Sporting de Gijón as a punishment for his expulsion. Aitor Karanka will take charge of the game. I wonder if Mou will be giving him instructions from the stands, like he did last night? After the game, Mou at first refused to talk about his expulsion. Then he relented (I guess he really must have been upset) and said: “It was a very easy game to referee. I’m not a good referee. I don’t do well when I have to referee in the training sessions, but this game was easy.”
November 13, 201014 yr Author José Mourinho at El LargueroNovember 12, 2010by unamadridistaFirst, a great video from Cuatro showing Mou’s “visit’ to the stands on Wednesday. We get to see exactly what he said to the ref, and I especially love the moments when he called José Morais over to pass directions on to Aitor Karanka, and then in the end Karanka just went over directly because it was faster and easier like that. José Mourinho was a guest on El Larguero last night (have a listen here, or watch here, here and here), and I guess his superstar status has been cemented because the program went to La Finca de Pozuelo de Alarcón (where Mou lives), instead of him going to the Cadena Ser studios. Here are some highlights (from here, because I haven’t had time to listen to the entire interview yet). I really love the way he talks (in the things he says, I mean). On going home after games in the Bernabéu: we have a protocol to follow after games in which the rival coach speaks to the press first. But I convinced them that we should change that because I like to hold the press conferences immediately after. In addition, my son goes to the games and I want to get home as quickly as possible, because the next day is a working day. My son and I usually talk after games… I told him the truth about my expulsion. On his expulsion: the second card was merited. If I see the referee, I will apologize. On Sergio Canales: I spoke with Canales this morning. He decided to speak with me. No one had done that until now. I explained to him why I said what I said, and that I could have spoken to him before to tell him he wasn’t doing things right, but I preferred for him to see for himself on the field that he was going in the wrong direction. He admitted it, and I’m happy for that because he has a lot of talent, intelligence, and it appears a family that helps him without complicating things. He’s gone through a difficult moment and I’m convinced that he’ll return to the right path. He’s a player for Madrid.[it looks like Sergio C. took Mou's words to heart, because he showed up on his off day to train with the rest of the team. Mou's bad cop tactics worked for Pedro León and Benzema, so hopefully Sergio C. will explode soon as well!]On Sunday’s game against Gijón: I’ll find a place to watch the game, since I won’t be allowed on the bench… [Gijón has offered him a place in a VIP box]. Gijón’s stadium has a lot of significance for me. On Nov. 4, 1996, we played a Sporting-Barcelona game there. After that game, I became a father for the first time when my daughter was born and I can’t forget that stadium and that date for the best reasons in the world. On watching the Murcia game from the stands: the problem is when you want to say something directly to the team. There are moments during the game when it’s now or never, and if you’re not there you’ll lose the moment. You need to communicate and if not you can’t you feel frustrated. But it’s better that I’m sanctioned than an important player. On who has impressed him: Di María, who came from the Portuguese league and quickly became an important player. I thought he would need more time. Iker is impressive – a leader that knows how to be one without making a lot of noise. Players who aren’t playing a lot such as Albiol or Arbeloa are fantastic. It’s more difficult to be great in this situation and they are.On his reserves: I’m lucky because I have a fantastic group. A coach that has people like Albiol, Arbeloa, Diarrá, Dudek, Granero… these people play less but work as much or even more than the others, and that makes the group easy to manage. It’s a privilege. On how Karanka became his assistant: his profile fit. I wanted an assistant from the club, that spoke the language of the club. A few names were suggested and I liked Aitor’s profile, even though he didn’t have a lot of experience, but he was young and enthusiastic. I also spoke with people who knew him and after three days of analyzing it, I spoke with him. I’m very content. On Pep Guardiola: when I was an assistant with Barcelona, we had a good relationship. I only have good memories. As a coach, I have no problems; the relationship can’t get better because he’s my rival… If I were the president of Barcelona, I’d sign him for 50 years. He’s the ideal coach for Barcelona, he knows the club perfectly. On FP: we don’t speak as much as I would like because he has his professional life and I have mine. We speak on the phone almost every day and we meet up once a week, and also with José Ángel Sánchez, Valdano and Pardeza. On the Portugal-Spain friendly: I won’t watch that game because I’m going to Qatar to see the Argentina-Brazil game.On the concentraciones: they’re important for me and I won’t get rid of them.On his reputation as a provocateur: I’m not a provocateur. It’s just that I’m not stupid and it’s difficult for me to stay quiet in certain situations.

November 16, 201014 yr Author Casillas support for MourinhoReal Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has defended manager Jose Mourinho after his side's 1-0 win at Sporting Gijon.Mourinho served the first of a two-game touchline ban at El Molinon, and had been heavily criticised by Gijon boss Manolo Preciado in the build-up to the game.Earlier in the season Mourinho criticised Gijon for the side they fielded against Barcelona, with Preciado suggesting last week that had the Portuguese still have been coaching in England, his comments would have seen him "thrown in jail."The over-hyped build-up made for a hostile atmosphere in Gijon last night, with Real eventually taking the win through Gonzalo Higuain's late goal."The game was complicated for many reasons, such as the comments made before the match, the atmosphere at the stadium," Casillas said."We stepped up to the challenge and earned three vital points. In all fairness the atmosphere was hostile. The home crowd supported its team 100%, which is normal."We responded well to that. Regarding what was said, I limit myself to defending my coach. I respect other opinions, but I do not share them. I stand by my coach, who is the best."
November 17, 201014 yr Author Mourinho and Co. have earned points on every visit and are still unbeatenRealmadrid.comWith their 0-1 win against Sporting Gijon at El Molinon and a total away record of four victories and two draws, Real Madrid are off to the best road start in the last 13 years. Not since Jupp Heynckes and company earned five wins and one draw on the road over the first eleven weeks of the 1997/98 season have Real Madrid gotten off to such a good start. That record was only good enough for a second place standing in the table, while this year’s team sits top with 29 points, the most ever earned since a three-point system was implemented.Jose Mourinho’s men have earned points in each of their six visits this season. They did not concede a goal in either of their two draws (Mallorca and Levante) and since their visit to Ciutat de Valencia Stadium, they have done nothing but win (at Malaga, Hercules and Sporting). The most lopsided victory was that against Malaga, in which Cristiano Ronaldo and Higuain each scored a brace. The two have combined for 70% of Real Madrid’s goals on the road. Di Maria has two to his name and Pepe has the other.Of their four road wins, the Madridistas have taken the lead and never looked back in three (Real Sociedad, Malaga and Sporting). November 20, 201014 yr Author Maradona backs Mourinho for gloryFormer Argentina coach Diego Maradona has backed Jose Mourinho to win the Champions League with Real Madrid. If the Portuguese indeed does so, he will become the first ever coach to win the European Cup with three different clubs. And Maradona is confident the 'Special One' will achieve the feat."He will give Real Madrid the Champions League title," Maradona told the club's official website."You have to give Mourinho time though so that the players can understand what he wants. That's what happened at Inter and the Italians won the European Cup after more than a 50-year drought."If they wait for Mourinho, I am convinced he will give Real Madrid the Champions League in no time."The Argentinean legend went on to praise Mourinho's training methods and player management skills. He added: "Mourinho's methods are sensational. He allows the players to enjoy themselves but when he has to rule with an iron first he does exactly that and when he has to motivate them he knows how to do it better than anybody."He is among the top two or three coaches in the world along with Pep [Guardiola]. They have both had incredible careers. Mourinho and I are friends since I went to visit him in Italy. He explained a lot to me about players and his methods."There is a great atmosphere. The training session was full of good vibes and everyone wanted to participate. That is the healthy competition created by Mourinho."When asked on his views regarding next Monday's 'El Classico' between Barcelona and Madrid, the 50-year-old is torn between the two but believes the hungrier side will be victorious."Barcelona are playing well and Mourinho's team is solid. This match will break the deadlock. Whoever plays with more attitude will win."
November 20, 201014 yr Author Mourinho and Preciado face sanctionsAfter a war of words between Real Madrid's Jose Mourinho and Sporting Gijon's Manolo Preciado, the Spanish FA will step in.According to an official statment from the Anti-Violence Commission of the RFER (Spanish Football Federation), they will look at possible punishments for the two managers, after Mourinho suggested that Preciado had "gifted the game" to Barcelona in Sporting's 1-0 loss.In asking the governing body to apply "the appropriate disciplinary measures" to the case, the commission concluded that the two coaches had "contributed to a hostile atmosphere between the participants and spectators, the result of which being that the match has been reclassified high-risk."It is necessary to catch these incidents to avoid them being able to occur in the future."The combative Preciado reacted furiously to the Portuguese's remarks, calling the Madrid boss a "swine" and "bad colleague," before adding, "who the hell is this guy to think and say that? Where is he coming from?"Mourinho has previously crossed swords with several other managers in other leagues, most notably Arsene Wenger in England and Carlo Ancelotti when the Italian was running AC Milan.
