Born Nonna or Anita Dooley in NYC in March or April of 1895-1897. Her exact birthdate and her birthname have been disputed over the years. She was a stage and screen actress.

She made her debut in 1920 and retired from films in 1929. She then traveled to Europe and came back to NYC where she filed bankruptcy. She then went back to the stage.

She made a few appearances on television and coached Carol Channing on how to vamp for her musical "Vamp".

Nita died of a heart attack on Feb. 17, 1961 in her native NYC.
