About Hotlinking

Just a reminder to all members, please do not hotlink. Repeated offenses will result in an official warning and possible suspension.

What is Hotlinking?
It is posting an image from one website onto another one, such as BZ. This not only steals bandwidth from original site, but also may result in broken links overtime (empty posts & etc), an increased server bill for the original site, and potential legal issues.

An Example of Hotlinking: Taking an image from victoriassecret.com, then copying the URL of the image and posting it using the image tags with their URL. It looks like this:

[img=VS Image URL]

There are many free image-hosting sites on the web. Here is a short list of some hosts:

hostingpics - apparently without pornographic advertising
PostImage.Org - apparently without pornographic advertising
Photobucket
TinyPic - For images under 1050 pixels in width only
turboimagehost

Imageshack - Nudity not allowed
ImageVenue - apparently with pornographic advertising
ImageBam - apparently with pornographic advertising

*Images hosted on social media sites such as facebook, instagram, pinterest, tumblr, twitter, VK, etc. are not meant to be hotlinked outside their approved sites.
