Dulce María (born Dulce María Espinoza Saviñón, December 6, 1985) is a Mexican actress, singer and songwriter born in Mexico City, Federal District.

Early Life

Dulce Maria began her acting career at the age of five, making appearances in commercials and later on at the age of eight children's shows such as Plaza Sesamo (The Mexican version of Sesame Street ) and El Club de Gaby. In 1996 she joined the pre-teen band, Kids. Quitting Kids in 1999 she would then join another band Jeans, which is known for its ever changing line-up.

Acting

In 2002 She became a lead actress in a Mexican telenovela " Clase 406 " playing the character Marcela Mejeda. in the same year She re-joined co-star Alfonso Herrera in another novela Rebelde where she would win "Best Young Actress" in the Premios TVyNovelas Awards. A sequel of sorts to Rebelde entitled RBD: La Familia aired in 2007. It was confirmed in September of 2008 that Dulce Maria would star in another telenovela produced by Pedro Damian. Filming is set to start in November.

RBD

During and after the success of Rebelde The spin off group RBD, has been enjoying international fame. Releasing four albums (not including live recordings or "fan editions") Dulce's popularity has grown to be a fan favorite among her bandmates. Having singed endorsement deal with Garnier and cKlass. She has written two song for RBD. "Quiero Poder" which is showcased on the RBD: La Familia soundtrack and "Te Daría Todo" which appears on the album " Empezar Desde Cero " fan edition. On August 14 it was announced that RBD would be dissolving, with one more album due out in 2009.

Dulce Amargo

In 2008 Dulce released a book which consisted of a collection of her poems and drawings.
