Layla90
Ha, I remember this Reserved s/s 2004 campaign, because at that time I really wanted this top with red and orange stripes thanks forget_me_not for so many archives pics, it's quite refreshing to see how Anja used to look like, at the beginnings of her career ok, if you people still want the next part of the article... Layla90
Ok Ire, if you want it more politically correct "my daughters were the only Caucasians on the playground" better no? the next part, tomorrow. It's quite long (actually I have it written down in a notebook, I just have to re-write it, but I won't do it today-but I promise to do this tomorrow!!) Layla90
Ok guys, BZ is working so crazy for me, I've been trying to get to some posts here for about half an hour....I hope everything will be fine now I just want to check myself (?) Private Linguistic School, to which Ania attended, isn't big. The headmaster, and at the same time Ania's form teacher, Bożena Madys remembers her perfectly. "She was 11-years-old when she came to us. She just came back with her parents from South Africa after 7 years long abscence in Poland. Poorly speaking Polish, but quickly learned the language better". Bożena Madys takes out archive photos and shows her ex-student. On most of these pics, Ania doesn't outstand (or stand out? ok, nvm). Only her legs are already fantastic ("These are the best legs in the industry"-states Lorenzo Pedrini, the owner of Next agency in Paris). "Anja was never regarded as a beauty" tells Kamila Klimas, her old classmate. And Katarzyna Tabaka, another friend, adds: "She never dressed herself in a way to catch attention. Usually she was wearing jeans and simple sweaters". Girls remind: "We were the first class in this school, experimental one. Only 8 people, so wanting it or not, we became intimate". Ania Rubik even then was known as a versatile person. "We were doing a school magazine with Ania" mentions one of Ania's teachers. She could stay at school till the evening, just to refine some article or care to print a right photo". Ok, I thought I would be able to write more, but I have to go soon I know, my translations aren't the best, but I hope you understand them

Layla90
Thanks Lay, your translations are fine. Well, I don't think so, but better sth than nothing, right? Continuing... Ania also painted beautifully. Katarzyna Tabaka: "Once she made us make-ups for a Halloween party, later queues were standing to her. She was organising all school charity actions. "Listen" she was saying with enthusiasm "we will bake lots of cakes, and later we'll sell them". Ania was ambitious since she was a child, even in details. It was enough to say sth for Ania, as Kasia Tabaka remembers, that she used to eat watermelons with peels and when someone said "so prove it", Ania on eyes of the whole class took to her mouth a huge piece of an unpeeled watermelon. "Ania never could give up, there were things, she just "knew" the best and there was no discussion with her about that." She was learning brilliantly, the best from geography. She was telling her friends she'll become an African studies expert (??-sorry, can't find it in a dictionary) and during breaks she was sitting with Kapuscinski's "Heban" and reading with blushes. Deep inside she was dreaming about becoming a model. She was watching music videos with Linda Evangelista and Naomi Campbell and dreaming about her spectacular career. "Ania was 12-years-old when a person directing a model agency from Katowice arrived to her school" tells Ewa Rubik. "Daughter was persuading me to come for a meeting with her. Obviously, she was too young then". "I just want to know if I am right" Ania begged. Lady from Katowice said just a few words: you suit in perfectly. All for today, tomorrow (I hope) the part about Ania in a modelling competition
