She caught the acting bug early on and was already appearing in local stage productions by the age of 3. She attended Allentown Central Catholic High School and was molded into a very conservative teenager as a result -- but it was the '80s after all, when it was hip to be square. Christine graduated in 1989. That same year, she was cast in the Nickelodeon series Hey Dude, where she played Melody Hanson, a sweet employee on a dude ranch. She stayed on until the show ended in 1991. By then, she was dating NCAA basketball player Bill McCaffrey and had moved to Los Angeles. She managed to land guest-starring roles on popular TV shows such as Dallas, Life Goes On, Saved by the Bell, and Blossom. In 1992, she got the role of Marcia Brady in the Westwood Playhouse production of The Real Live Brady Bunch. christine is the new marcia brady Next, Christine appeared alongside Jason Priestley and Joe Pantoliano in the comedy Calendar Girl (1993), and that same year, she could be seen as the damsel in distress in Showdown, a low-budget version of The Karate Kid. She was offered the lead role, but her strict refusal to do nudity led her to a smaller part. The following year, she appeared in the FOX television movie Here Come the Munsters and Breaking Free, a teen movie that was so little seen that instead of going straight to video, it went directly to the airlines. Still in 1995, she managed to break into the mainstream by snatching the coveted role of Marcia Brady in The Brady Bunch Movie. It helped that she had mastered the role on stage before, but what really counted was her incredible resemblance to Maureen McCormick, who played the part on the popular television series. The show, which was a spinoff of the Parker Posey film of the same name, was only on the air for four episodes. Before the year was over, she had also reprised her Marcia Brady role in A Very Brady Sequel.
