Simon Nessman, B.C. Model, Ranked Number 2 In World

post-20251-0-1446100940-11667_thumb.jpg

Simon Hessman has been ranked Number 2 on a list of the Top 50 Male Models from models.com.

The B.C. model was discovered after the sister of a friend sent a photo of him to Mode Models in Calgary, according to the site's profile.

With representation by the top modelling agencies in Europe and the U.S., it's hardly surprising Nessman is working with some of the biggest designer names and the top photographers in the world. With numerous high end editorial shoots, and more than a few covers on magazines such as Vogue, Elle and GQ under his belt, Hessman is a familiar face to anyone interested in fashion.

With many campaigns for Michael Kors, Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren on his resume, Nessman has a portfolio that boasts a stunning collection of images by photographers such as Mario Testino, Bruce Weber and Mario Sorrenti.

But when he's not gracing the catwalks or posing in some glamorous international location, Hessman remains a B.C. boy through and through, making his home on windswept Vargas Island, off the coast of Tofino, The Province reports.

The 23-year-old signed with Major Management in early 2007, and by November of that year was featured in French Vogue spread photographed by Bruce Weber, according to New York Magazine.

Born on Hornby Island, Nessman is the youngest of four children, he told CoverMen Mag, noting that his first campaign with Givenchy was the turning point in his career.

Take a look at some of the advertising campaigns Nessman has been the face of in the slideshow below:

^Thanks for that clarification. But my purpose for posting the article was not his rankings on models.com.

I posted this article because it has not been posted on BZ before, it provides old and new information about Simon's work, and, mostly, because of the slideshow that reviews the major campaigns of Simon's career; all information that is more essential and substantive than his rankings....which are purely subjective anyway...and bear little significance to those in the industry.
