BILL CURRY

Bill W. Curry (jr.) is a former US American male model from West Virginia that started out modeling in 1976. He worked until the late 1990s.

Bill Curry: "In 1976 I was flying for Eastern Airlines as a flight attendant, and I met a girl named Hanne Friedman in first class, who invited me to meet with the Wilhelmina Agency. I went up to their office in New York, and they said, ‘You need test pictures,’ so I started testing. About four months later, every agency in New York had turned me down—Elite, Ford, you name it. So I went to Wilhelmina one last time and sat there for two hours, and Dan Deely, the men’s agent, said that he couldn’t see me. So I got in the elevator ready to leave and just go back to my hometown in Ohio. I got in on the 12th floor, and it stopped on the seventh, the doors opened up, and Wilhelmina herself walked in. She said, ‘Hi, are you with our agency?’ and I said, ‘No, I couldn’t get accepted,’ and she said, ‘Well, you’re accepted now."
