He is a French professional footballer who plays as a centre-back or left-back for Paris Saint-Germain F.C. and the France national football team. Hernández began his career in the youth academy of Atlético Madrid before making his professional debut in 2014. He later joined FC Bayern Munich in 2019, winning the treble in 2020, and signed for Paris Saint-Germain in 2023. Internationally, he helped France win the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2021 UEFA Nations League Finals. He is also the older brother of fellow French international Théo Hernández.
