He plays primarily as a left-back and is known for his speed, stamina, and attacking runs down the flank. Mohammadi currently plays for Persepolis F.C. and has been a regular member of the Iran national team.He began his professional career with Rah Ahan before moving to Russia with Akhmat Grozny, where he gained international attention. He later played for K.A.A. Gent in Belgium, AEK Athens F.C. in Greece, and briefly for Adana Demirspor in Turkey. Mohammadi represented Iran at both the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups and is also well known for his attempted flip throw-in during the 2018 World Cup match against Spain. His twin brother, Mehrdad Mohammadi, is also a professional footballer.
