Born in Greece, raised in Germany, and having studied in London, Daniela Amavia began modeling while pursuing an acting career. In the late 1980s, she walked the runway for Chanel and Dior, was a spokesmodel for Chloé, and appeared on the covers of Vogue, Elle, and Femme.

In 1988, she obtained her first film role and continued to act under her married name, Lunkewitz.

She gained particular recognition for her role as Alia Atreides in the TV miniseries Children of Dune (2003).

In 2015, her film "A Beautiful Now" was released, with Amavia serving as director and screenwriter.
