Amanda Seyfried was born on December 3, 1985, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She graduated from William Allen High School in 2003, and is a student at Fordham University in New York City. She used to model, and made her debut as an actress in soap operas, such as As the World Turns and All My Children. Her big break, however, came in 2004 when she played Karen Smith in the teen comedy Mean Girls. From then on, she starred in Nine Lives and played cameos on other television series. She is mostly recently seen in Alpha Dog, playing Julie Beckley.
