She was supposed to join the roster after the 2009 show along Chanel, Candice, Rosie & Lindsay. But then she missed the show and they never considered her for an Angel gig again.

Lindsay also had some sort of issue (her Swim cover flopping? doing the Etam show? IDK) but they rehired her in 2011 anyway. And both Erin & Lilly popped up out of nowhere.

That was a messy time, Angel wise.

But she did walk the show in 2010, not as an angel, but 'just' a model.

I think they should keep it in the states unless they plan on actually taking advantage or drawing inspiration from one of the overseas cities they go to. What's the point of traveling there if they don't? The show this year looked like it could have been anywhere.

I totally agree. You can never tell in which city it is. This year I do have to give them credits to film more of the location inside, but they didn't put anything french in the segments. They didn't do a Parisian theme. Actually the the Parisian nights segment in 2013 should have been done this year.

I drew a whole collection with the overall theme "Alice in Wonderland" - you can check it out here http://dts-utopia.npage.de/galerie426869.html (on the right side you can look at the other segments)

Other than that I'm "re-working" all the VSFS outfits, altering them to my taste e.g.:

    caroline w.jpgjulia stegner.jpg

or adding completely new outfits to segments e.g.

this one is for the 2007 Deck the hall-segment

    Amazing sketches, I love them'1

I think the only reasonable place for the next show should be Milan - it's the only one of the four fashion capitals they haven't had the show at yet.

PS: Thx for the compliments for my sketches :stormy:

They should do the show in Rome!! That would be great. I always hope for an outdoor show, that would make it romantic. But in winter, the temperature is not high enough I guess.

I'll come back and edit the post with a picture. I think the one that is most iconic for me is Ale's black wings with the jungle theme. I can't remember the year and I'm still digging through this board to the end.

Yes Wild Things but I liked Emanuela da Paula coming out of The jungle with a bunch of Tarzan dudes. It was more of an epic moment than an epic outfit bc she wasn't wearing much.

I think It was perhaps not the most epic moments, but certainly one of the moments. I have a hard time choosing when It comes down to VSFS

Tyra was the first one who did more than just walking straight down the runway. But it was more like in a fierce way. She didn't blow kisses or made hearts in the air..that was all Adriana's effort since 2007. In that year she started to exaggerate. I liked her opening in 2006, it was strong, like Tyra was. But since 2007 she overacted. And the other models started to imitate her, even Alessandra..

I sometimes think about how the show would be like if Gisele didn't leave. Would she also blow kisses or would the other girls have stronger walks?!

I think 2007 was still great concerning Adriana's behaviour.

Lol I think it's kind of hilarious you guys are shaming the women in this video. Yeah buzzfeed are extremely annoying but based by the thumbnail alone the woman on the left is more physically attractive and prettier than Gigi and 65% of the women they casted.

And even bigger lol at saying that people want to see the thin models they casted instead. If people want to see these thin high fashion models then why did they get a record low rating this year  ?

Why were the ratings higher when the models were curvier like Tyra and Heidi and even with there amazing 2011 cast ? I've asked a ton of men and women this past week why they didn't watch the VS fashion show and they all had the same identical answer " Nobody wants to see a bunch of sticks and bones walk down a runway "

I don't think you guys realize what year this is and what most of the demographic want. No I don't think a size 14 woman is 100% appropriate for a television broadcast lingerie fashion show,  but I definitely don't think a size 0 Balenciaga high fashion model should be on that runway either. A woman who has a A-cup bra size and barely a full breast should not model for lingerie. It's no different than a skinny male advertising a muscle campaign ad It just doesn't go. It turns viewers away the one thing VS had that made them stand out from other fashion shows they got rid of.

Men in this generation are crazy about Sports illustrated models the models who should be casted for this show, but VS is pandering to teenage girls who can barely afford pink half the time.

With thin I meant size 4, 6, 8, (and if they have a very small size they should have it naturylly and not by starving themselves)  I wasn't talking about sticks and bones. I meant that often you hear women say they want fuller figures on the runway, but in reality it doens't look that good because women want a more some ideal to aspire to.

What I also mean to say that is oke to be any size, but that people in general want that ideal body on the runway, even though they say they don't. So that is why I partly dislike how people are bashing models or are saying the true woman is a size 10 or 12 and should be on the runway.

(In general I think the model today is in general too thin. I like to see more of a size 6 on the runway)

With saying a model who has an A cup shouldn't model for lingerie, you are doing the same you accuse the people of who say women who are fat shouldn't model. A woman with cup A is still 100% a woman. Cup A can be very beautiful and can be totally in proportion with her body. It should be celebrated, so she should model lingerie. Quite offending you compare it to a male.

SI models are generally not much bigger. Marisa MIller was about a size 2 with cup D. Most models are not bigger than a size 4 but generally have bigger boobs and curves, that is why they model for SI. It's an illusion that SI models are really much fuller. A lot of models that model for VS also do SI btw.

omg ewww gross lol so much lard everywhere in that video. Im tired of buzzfeed and their body image clickbait. Bunch of bs. No one wants to see those terrible bodies in lingerie. Thats the reality. Being that overweight equates to laziness and lack of self control. No one take offense from my comment im just criticizing buzzfeed for their usual pointless crap. Oh and why did the transvestite have a better body than all the women. Yikes!

Lol a lot of people say they want to see normal women on the runway but that Just is not True.  Even if they are denyjng ir, they want to see thin women on the runway.

My favorite segments are all the ones from 2005, no joke, especially the Sexy santa helpers, the toy segment (that KK opening was fire) and the candy segment, but overall every segment and almost every outfit in that show was just such an epic win + Parisian Nights from 2013 and the Winter Glacial Whateverthenameitwas closing segment from 2006  I'm a less is more kinda gal and all those segments have something in common: no performers, lots of lingerie and not that many accesories, capes and weird shit.

I agree about Georgia being great, she with Grace and Irina were my favorite newbies for sure. Alana, Dilone and Jourdana also gave me life, and of course Bella who i love.

Some regulars that need to go are Alessandra, Lily A, Lily D and Joan, they looked so out of place this year o.o, at least Adriana and Izabel (who i cannot believe I'm saying this about tbh) looked fresh on the runway, they don't give me old auntie vibes.

Also, whoever thought bringing back Liu was a good idea needs to get slapped :ninja:

And there are great remixes, and the show is more a fashion show instead of a pop concert where the performers is the central figure. There is higher energy, models walk a bit faster, less blowing kisses and 'making out' with the performers

Sorry, but people like us who are on Bellazon and can name all the Angels off the top of our head are not the typical person who tunes in on CBS. That's a small percentage. A lot of people watch it hoping to see some T&A, as a tradition, the musical guests, the older Angels or to gawk while drinking with friends.

Yes, someone smaller than size 4 doesn't mean unhealthy but to a lot of the general public it means unhealthy. I see you're based in the Netherlands but here in America, a lot of thinner women (especially lanky types) are seen as having something wrong with them outside of fashion industry people. People are very outspoken about it and will not hold themselves back saying that smaller women need to eat a sandwich etc. I'm a solid size 4 at 6 feet, 32DDD, former soccer player and I don't starve myself but if I walk through some parts of this country like the midwest, the south, suburbs and college towns, people are not afraid to tell me they think I look like I have an eating disorder.

Here generally people also have that opinion, bc Dutch women aren't that thin, and also often say you should eat something. French and Italian women are usually way more petite.

But I think at the same time people unconsiously what to see that skinny person and an unattainable standard, although they might say otherwise. People tend to aspire to an untainable standard or put that on a pedestal, and VS knows that.

I also think VS wants to especially target young girls/ women so are much more influenced by the beautiful ideal. That is what I meant with that the VS viewer is model obsessed

I don't disagree with you that a lot of people have different opinions about what is beautiful and healthy. And perhaps most of the audience whats to see fuller figures, personally I do.

What I am trying to say is that VS is not going to do that, although the majority wants to see that. VS is not going to give the public what they want, but wants to keep that certain 'skinny yet 'healthy' yet curvy model' at runway so they can make themselves more exclusive or something. That is a bit how fashion works. The fashion indrustry works with size 0 not because they want to give the audience what they want or like; it's more like elevating the brand and that fashion elite/ fashion lovers to a level that is exlusive and unattainable for the 'normal' person, even if a size 0 its not in fact beautiful. It's almost works like a cult. So I actually think you can see VS a bit like a cult.

I don't know if I can explain it. I will come back to you on this.

I think it really depends on who you ask. The model obsessed tend to say that softer, curvier girls need to work out more and eat healthier.

But a lot of people who aren't model obsessed look at VS models, models, and in general women below size 4 dress as unhealthy, weak, starving themselves, can fall over and break, need a sandwich etc.

It shouldn't be that way either way but it is just that there is so much misinformation about bodies in general.

I think women want authenticity these days. People can see behind all the "fakeness" at VS like the fake curves from contouring, poses, chicken filets, the fake healthiness (because they've been caught smoking cigarettes, binge eating, binge drinking), the fake skinniness from crash diets. I think that's where a lot of the "hate" from the general public comes

Most.People Who watch VS or are their target audience ARE model obsessed and will think skinny equals fit and healthy.

Btw a smaller size than size 4 doesn't

need to be unhealthy. Thee are a lot of natural petite Girls Who don't starve themselves.  What VS does is creating those fake curves so their bodies become unrealisitic  ( size 2 andere making Small B cup look like big C or even D)
