Created by long-time celebrity photographer Russell James; the scent, the maker and commercial partner OBS Lifestyle were able to attract renowned names to not only attend the debut party, but also throw their name and image behind it. Best known for her work with Victoria's Secret and marriage to Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine, Namibian model Behati Prinsloo is one such celebrity who has become the face of Raw Spirit. Here we talk to the 26-year old about her involvement. What's it like working with Russell James? Russell is amazing. I've grown up with him, he is family. I love shooting with him because he makes me feel comfortable. He always makes every shoot fun and exciting. It's always an adventure. He also has a great team around him that I love. What is the best thing about being a Victoria's Secret Angel? Having such an awesome family around me. I've made amazing friendships. We get to travel to amazing places together. It's a dream come true and I always feel like I have to pinch myself. How did your association with Raw Spirit come about? I've known Russell for a very long time from shooting with him. He has truly become family to me. Russell told me about Raw Spirit after we had just finished shooting a collaborative art project 'Seminole Spirit' on the incredible lands of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Both of us left that shoot feeling inspired, so when they approached me it felt right to become involved. What is it about the perfume and brand that interests you? I love the team's dedication to being a socially-conscious business. I love that they give back to communities they work with. I love the fragrances because they are so unique and you can jump from one scent to another to adapt to how you're feeling that day. What does being the face of it involve? It involves being the brand's ambassador, to help bring awareness to the brand and its incredible philosophy to give back to the marginalised communities they partner with. Which of the Raw Spirit perfumes is your favourite and what do the scents mean to you? My favorite is Wild Fire. I like more musky smells. I'm obsessed with this one right now. Are you a big perfume person? What is your other favourite scent? I don't wear a lot of perfume. What I love about Raw Spirit is that I have choices of different scents. I kind of jump between them at the moment. If you weren't a model what would you like to be and do you see yourself going through a career transition? I always wanted to be a marine biologist! And I'm really excited about the future. I have no idea what's in store. What are your 2016 resolutions? I never make resolutions because I never keep them. I just have fun and live life, try to do good, and be a good person.
