I hope this "space shot" stuff with Kate does not make the cover. I'm not a big fan of the idea. It seems way too gimmicky. Then again, the over-the-top ridiculous Photoshop jobs in the photos of recent years have turned beautiful women into something that resembles aliens. So, I guess a photoshoot in "fake simulated space" is the logical next step. Just show us non-Photoshopped great photos of beautiful models, MJ Day & company. Is that really too much to ask? I really, really, really hope they give us that this year, because the lineup of models sounds amazing. Don't ruin it, SI.

My spin: After yesterday's shocker of a result, we go back to a completely expected one. Brooklyn had no trouble getting past Shannan, as expected, and she advances to the Quarterfinal Round. This is a great example of the magic of tournaments. If Shannan had gotten a tougher draw, this is probably what would have happened to her in a much earlier round. But, she had a very favorable draw and took full advantage of it to end up in the Sexy Sixteen. Regardless of the draw, winning five matches to get from the Qualifying Round to the final 16 models is eye opening and deserves a lot of respect. Good run for Shannan! I had thought Nina might have a chance in her match against Kate, but I never expected to have her get more than two-thirds of the vote. This is a pretty overwhelming result, and Kate's fans will be unhappy to learn she's been knocked out in the Sexy Sixteen. Perhaps this is an indication of a groundswell of support for a cover appearance for Nina? Who knows, but it's certainly an impressive win, and Nina looks like she'll be tough to stop. Ha! That's funny. I agree with you completely on Kenza Fourati. I thought she was the worst model in SI in quite some time. But, I have an odd attraction to Shannan Click. How did she make it this far? Easy matchups and some good luck. She's been just narrowly defeating some of her opponents, even in the very first qualifying match. But, hey, she made it this far, which is pretty impressive. I think you'll have nothing to worry about regarding Brookyn winning. I can't imagine her losing this one.

My spin: Elle advanced easily, as expected, but the other two were much closer. The closest one was Anne V's victory over Cintia Dicker. This was another one that could have gone either way. Anne will have a tough challenge trying to knock off Elle, though.
