It's always a joy to talk to Adriana Lima fans. They're so perceptive. If you look at the shows from the past few years, they've had a mix of the ethnic girls with the curvier bodies (Gisele, Adriana, Alessandra, etc) coupled with the more couture runway bodies of some of the international "it" girls. They are now making a concerted effort to use mostly girls with the curves to appeal to the general public. The industry has received a bad rap this year concerning model weights and body image, and Victoria's Secret, who is a name brand in a very commercial market, is trying to separate themselves from that as much as possible. CBS gave them a little more creative control in what they'll show from their collection, but in doing so, moved the time of the airing to later in the night. They're also being conservative about the ages of the models being used, bringing in the recent issue with Sabrina.

Her breasts and lips are real. She's a throw back to the more ethnic and curvy body that Victoria's Secret is trying to get back to. It's the reason she hasn't been as popular in general runway shows. She has a killer body for lingerie and swimsuit.

Um, Karolina Kurkova is certainly NOT "approaching 30". she was born on February 28th, 1984. which means that she's only 23 years old. Miranda was born on Feb 20th, 1983. she's a full year OLDER than K.K. Doutzen born in 1985, only 1 year younger than KK i understand that it seems like KK is older, but it's only because of how incredibly much she's accomplished already. compare Miranda's career with KK's. it's pretty funny. You are correct but I keep hearing Karolina is looking at projects outside of modeling. So, I coupled her in with the girls who might be looking to not re-sign. At this point, we dont know with her though.

In Gucci's defense, no one called her "fat". She just did not have the body ideal they wanted. The thing about the collection in question was, it was quite demure and understated for the most part. They wanted the clothes to wear the models, not the models wear the clothes. In other words, the thinner girls tend to not upstage the clothing, while the bigger framed girls accentuate it in ways it was not intended.

can u prove it that is a real statement can you please cite confident sources, will you? I work in the industry. Take what I say however you like. It's not secret. If YOU actually have any "sources" ask around and you'll hear the same thing. Ask the agencies and models themselves... there's ways to contact. If you dont come across as an idiot fan, we're more than happy to answer most inquiries.

The "t" is hard, which in best translation is almost a "d" sound. I think that was the point that was being made by whoever wrote that. I'll find out later on if that's a legit site but i've seen their others and i'm quite certain it is.

That's the great thing about beauty-- everyone has their own idea of what "beauty" is. To be honest, I find Izabel extremely unattractive and think she's not a good fit for VS, but other's adore her. I certainly respect what she's accomplished, but I do find it a little baffling. Where VS went "wrong", was in signing girls who dont have cross-over appeal. Some of their girls just wont appeal to a broad base, while others do physically but are promotion and interview liabilities, such as Adriana and Alessandra. It's the main reason they went with English speaking Miranda when looking for a new girl. She may not be their prettiest girl, but she's gorgeous enough and comfortable in front of an English speaking audience. I think that's why a Brazilian with little accent such as Sabrina appeals to them, as well as Doutzen who carrys little of an accent. People forget that promotion is much more than just a pretty face. They really have made a brand of themselves.

Actually, i'm pretty sure that is a management run myspace for her. Also, to secure "hits", it's not unusual to put 18 for girls who are underage. I can find out for certain if its her page later in the week. I do know i've heard people call her "Nati" in person, as well as nana or something like that. So that appears to be legit.

Do I have some NEWS for you, my lil chicadees! As many of you know, I work for a NY based agency and right now there's a lot of pushing of girls to be considered for a VS casting... anywho! VS is in a rebuilding period that is going to last about a year. They're actively looking to sign girls to development deals (ala Sabrina Jales) at a very young age. They're looking to build up these girls over a few years, not just throw them in the spotlight. The attributes they're looking for is mainstream beauty, mainstream bodies that are still couture-esque, and the ability to come across well in interviews, which seems to be their biggest problem at the moment. I can tell you right now with 100% accuracy, they they've been gunning to sign Doutzen Kroes to Angel status but she's been balking at the contract. It appears she'd rather gradually ease herself out of runway before signing to become an Angel. I think thats a brilliant idea considering it will keep it possible to ante up the offers from VS. It will also keep her "current". Doutzen has the perfect look and body to contrast the Brazilians that are running the VS show. Secondly, Sabrina Jales is signed to a development deal. This girl is still VERY young. She's currently only 19 and I hear her age is a problem for the people at CBS, who are notoriously conservative. It seems there's some wrangling about whether or not they want a 19 yo walking down the runway in lingerie on national television. VS LOVES her, and really think she can be the next huge thing for them in a few years (if you havent seen this girl in person she is FLAWLESS!!! Hands down the most naturally beautiful Brazilian... girl wears NO makeup and turns heads), but they really want to get some runway experience in her. So it should be interesting to see who wins out... VS and their marketing team or CBS. Thats all on this front... and things are heating up for NYFW! The agents are in a frenzy! I think we're going to see some changing of guards come the runway shows!

It's almost absurd to think, but by them going after very young girls (19-21), they're essentially developing their next Angels since most of their main girls, are in the mid to late 20's already. It's so strange to think of Adriana, Alessandra, Karolina, etc as approaching 30, but they certainly are. They'll certainly maintain stature into their 30's, but VS has to rebuild and mold the girls who are going to integrate and eventually take over.

Unless something unforseen happens, she'll be there. They're preening her to be one of their next big girls. From what I hear, they're serious about "branding" and moving forward with their brand, and to do that, they need some younger models who can also evolve with the brand. Should be interesting to see who else they select.

Yeah, but they have the bodies to pull off VS fair. Adding Doutzen and Miranda will offset adding a new Brazilian to the mix. In my opinion, she is more facially beautiful than Alessandra and Izabel in particular, and when done right, she's more beautiful than the way Adriana has been looking as of late.

What does NYFW have to do with Sabrina signing a development deal? Either way, you wont be seeing her until the fall, possibly late fall with them. Now as far as who she'll be walking for NYFW, I dont have a clue. She's not signed with us.

Well it's official. As some of you know, I work for an NYC agency and we heard this afternoon that Sabrina had indeed signed a development deal with Victoria's Secet. A development deal is more or less a contract where they'll use her and see how she evolves for them. From what I understand though, there IS an option for Angel status if they like how she performs for them. I guess she took a few years off from modeling which is why her portfolio is so light but they absolutely love her face and body and feel she's got the best body for their brand. She also has a very mainstream look, but can also play up her ethnic features easily. She also speak with little to no accent, which will help pick up the promotion that some of the other Angels, Adriana and Alessandra in particular, have trouble with. I love that they got this girl. She's drop dead gorgeous in person without a stick of make-up. A true beauty. And her body. It's flawless. It's got the perfect amount of curves and leaness. I think she can be huge within a few years in the mainstream market. And for those wondering, that is her real myspace. Evidently she has two, one is set to private the other is open for fans.

I remember when they were shopping this girl around different agencies. At times, she looked like absolute perfection... other times, she looked very ordinary. If she learns how to work her angles, she could be big in the sexy market.

Im very split on this girl. She can have a very classic beauty look and other times, her facial structure does nothing for me. It should be interesting to see how she develops.

She signed a development deal with VS with an Angel clause. If all parties are happy at the end of the year, then they open up a spot on the roster for her. Victoria's Secret wants to "break" one or two girls like they did with Selita, and Sabrina is one of them. It makes sense when you think they'll need girls who have curves and who will appeal to a large cross section of customers, fans, and press. There's not a ton of girls in high fashion who have that capability at the moment... Doutzen Kroes being one of the few that spring to mind that can do both.

They mentioned bringing on 3 or 4 new girls. I think its safe to say Miranda is one of them. My money is on Doutzen to secure another spot.

She looks fantastic. I think she just cemented herself as the top Angel choice.

I said in my original post im part of the management staff... its not a secret... but lets be realistic, its a board of a few hundred people. Its not a big marketing endeavor. Just thought some people might be a fan of the show and of a new person making her debut on it.

She's on ESPN now too. I think she's going to have to make a choice really quickly if Sports Television is her calling or acting. We'll see. Her character on Desperate Housewives is going to be wicked.
