  1. Waltz is NOT supporting. god I am so pissed off right now! I think I'll switch it to the "Columbo" re-run. The Oscars were bad enough but the Globes too!
  2. Glad to see Leo at an event and smiling. I think that's the best thing he can do. It's sort of like brushing off the Academy, so good for him! Even my husband is mad that Leo didn't get nominated. He said, "really, I thought Leo was great in 'Django.' :" When I told him Waltz had been nominated, he said, "who's that?" Thanks for the pictures! Glad to have found this site!
  3. Do you think he'll skip the Golden Globes? Maybe he doesn't feel like attending after the Oscar snub. I hope he goes and gets a lot of applause when his name is announced.
  4. It still really bothers me that Leo didn't get nominated this year. I can't seem to get over it. Not like I'm not living my life or need anti-depressants or anything, but it's just there, in the back of my mind. Usually when an actor gets snubbed once, the Academy makes up for it the next time he or she is up for one. But not for Leo. They've overlooked him three times for a win and now snubbed him, in my estimation, three times in the last five years! I'm glad Jamie Foxx spoke up for Leo. More of his peers should. Thanks for the pictures and news!
  5. @ RainyDay I agree with you. I think Phoenix may win. He's got Harvey behind him. Not that it helped Leo.
  6. There's so much I want to vent about the Oscar nominations, I don't know where to begin. Back in 2007, when Leo was nominated for the third time, I really thought in a couple of years he would actually win one. Then "Revolutionary Road," got snubbed all around; "Shutter Island" got moved; "J. Edgar" tanked. Last year, even when he got the BFCA, GG and SAG, I know he wasn't going to be nominated for an Oscar because the movie wasn't well liked. This year I really thought -- this is it! He's playing a supporting role; playing a villian; a Tarantino movie; he's funny. He got some of the best notices of his career. He won the NBR. Then, when I heard Waltz was being campaigned as supporting, not lead, I just knew Leo was going to get screwed again. So, in 2013, I now don't think Leo will ever win an Oscar. I think next year, they will find a way to overlook him again and everyone who moans and groans about it will be accused of being "fangirls" or "fanboys" and there will be countless excuses as to why Leo isn't good enough for Oscar (but someone like Mira Sorvino or Hillary Swank or Cuba Gooding, Jr. is). I know I sound like Debbie Downer (and I'm Summer!) but that's how I feel. There are lots of great actors who never get nominiated (Cary Grant) or never win (Peter O'Toole) Oscars. I also know that Oscars are not as important as world peace or one's health and that Leo is a "winner" in our eyes. But that doesn't make me feel better about this whole thing. I'm also a sore loser and I hope Waltz doesn't win a second Oscar. As to the London premiere, I'm glad Leo didn't go.
  7. @ Valentine I hope I live long enough to see Leo win an Oscar. I'm not getting younger!
  8. Thanks for the welcome! So the London premiere is tomorrow? I hope Leo doesn't go, given what happened with the BAFTAs. I really doubt Leo will be nominated tomorrow. I read a Los Angeles Times article that claimed all the talk among Academy members is about Waltz. Personally, I hope Waltz doesn't get in. I think he's a co-lead in the movie and should have been campaigned as such. It's not fair. Like many of you I feel the frustration of following The Leo and the Oscars Saga. I really want to see him win and I'm not sure what he needs to do to do so. The BAFTA noms are crazy in so many ways -- Ben Affleck for best actor? No Speilberg? Bardem, again?
