  1. Hi all! I really like the new Gatsby tv spot and trailer. Leo looks like he has really nailed this performance and he looks stunningly beautiful. Can't wait to see how Leo interprets Gatsby. I believe we will get the darkest, sexiest and most intense Jay yet from Leo. I wish May would hurry up. Re the chinese interview that I have unfortunately been able to view, I recall that the same programme recently did a conversition with Kate Winslet with the reporter asking about Leo as a man and as an actor. She said lovely things so that got me wondering - does Leo talk about him and Kate at all in this interview???
  2. Thanks a lot for posting this interview - great stuff. The Chinese interviewer asked great questions, seemed to have followed Leo's career very knowledgeably, and Leo himself seemed really into the interview as a result. Hello everyone. Hope you are all well. Gatsby is getting closer. I can't wait for Leo's performance. He will be brilliant I know. Unfortunately, no matter what I try, I can't view the Chinese interview. Did I miss anything really good or interesting?
  3. The tweet says that they saw him on the the 9th, so I dont think so
  4. I wonder if the long shoot will change the eventual release date because Marty likes to take his time post production. I'm getting excited about seeing Leo's performance in Gatsby. I'm not a huge fan of the book despite it's classic status but Jay Gatsby is a character Leo was born to play. Beautiful, mysterious, heart breaking. That's what I anticipate and more. (The book with the new movie tie-in cover is available in the UK from 28 March by the way. I found a longer extract from an old interview in which Kate Winslet talked about what it was like to film the scene towards the end of Titanic when she and Leo get sucked down into the water along with the boat as it sinks: "we could literally reaqd eachother's mind. In my scariest shots, when I had to take my mask off under the water at the bottom of the tank, he (Leo) would n't leave me. There's a close shot of my face that he did n't need to be there for but he was, stroking my legs in time with the breathing so I would n't get flustered." :wub2:
  5. Hello girls. I hope you are all well. According to the Daily Mail article that filming is taking place in L.A. Either L.A. or N.Y. I can't believe how long this Wolf shoot is lasting. I
  6. Hi everyone! Hope you are well. I just wanted to wish you all a merry christmas and a happy, healthy, peaceful and successful new year. I can't wait for Leo's performances in Django and Gatsby. He will be brilliant I am certain but I would be delighted for him if 2013 also brought him the awards recognition that he deserves. (Fingers crossed but I'm not holding my breath) xo
  7. Hello everyone! The December issue of Total Film magazine has an interview with Quentin Tarantino. It is not a Django Unchained specific interview as he talks about his other work too. However, he does say the following about Leo: "I think we've found new sides to Leo. He gives a very different performance than he's ever given before. I have a tremendous amount of respect for his talent. He's very, very talented and has some amazing moments. I like people who are serious about their work. I would love to work with him again."
  8. Hi all! Hope you are well. I just read a new interview that Kate Winslet did for France's Madame Figaro. They asked her to name "the essentials" in her life. The things that she likes were: "my children, cinema, leonardo (dicaprio) and tending my garden". :wub2:
  9. Wow. The video posted. Yay! First time for everything. Enjoy. Sorry for the double post.
  10. Hello everyone I hope you are all well. I don't know how to post videos but I found an interview that Kate gave to Chinese TV while promoting Titanic 3D in which she speaks of Leo. Interviewer: One last question Kate. If I don't ask I would not be able to return to China. As a close friend and co-worker of Leo, what do you think of him as an actor and as a person? Kate: He's the best man in the world. He's very funny. He's funnier than anyone could ever know and he's very special. He's a very special person. As an actor, he just seems to get better and stronger all the time and I am constantly impressed by him and proud of him. Listen, he is a very important person in my life so I will only ever say wonderful things about him.
  11. I agree Pami but I think will have to be content with them as friends as they seem to be the only people not in favour of the idea.
  12. Hi BarbieErin. You're very welcome. They do indeed seem to be great friends who care a lot about each other and long may that continue.
  13. Hi Katchitup. That picture was taken in March/April 2010. This was during the first few days of Kate and Sam taking Mia and Joe to school in the aftermath of their separation announcement. Once it was announced that Kate and Sam were breaking up, the paparazzi were camped outside the NYC apartment that the family lived in. Just a few days before this photo was taken the paps had closed in on Kate and Mia as they were trying to leave the apartment for a day out together. Mia really does n't like it when the paps are around and she was so freaked out that she practically had her head up Kate's jumper trying to hide from them. The very next time Kate and her kids were seen outside, Jay was accompanying them aornd Mia had new sunglasses. He was with them every day of their first week back into school since the break up was announced. He escorted Kate, Sam and the kids past the paps and into the car and on some of the days accompanied Kate wherever she had to go after she had dropped them off at school. Jay had been both Leo's bodyguard and his assistant during the Revolutionary Road shoot and the kids spent a lot of time on set (including quality time with 'Uncle Leo' according to Kate and eye witness accounts from residents living in the neighbourhood were the filming took place) so they were familiar with Jay. As soon as I started to see pics of Jay with Kate I sensed that Leo knew that if he was spotted with Kate and the kids it would make the media scrum worse but he obviously wanted to look after them in whatever way he could. In an interview Kate gave to Vogue UK (I think it was published in March or April 2011) she told the reporter that Leo is her "rock." She also said that Leo "knows me better than anyone else in the world ... I don't know what .. I would have done if I had n't had him."
  14. Hi Girls Hope you are all well. Wow. Leo will make a wonderful Jay - beautiful, mysterious, troubled and heart breaking. However, all the film adaptations are much more of a romance/love story than is ever the case with the book. SPOILERS! The book is about greed, the decline of the American dream and a man (Jay) who falls for a woman that is not worthy of his devotion. He becomes what we see to be Jay because it's everything he thinks she wants. However, it's wasted on her. The book is more downbeat than the film versions usually are. I can imagine why Leo chose to play Jay. He would be fascinated by the idea of a man who creates a new identity/life for himself.
  15. Hi Katchitup. Cannes 2012 runs from 16-27 May 2012. Hi Posey. I heard Christmas Day 2012 for Django and Gatsby. However, I have n't checked on this recently. I did hear in Variety though that Django may premiere at the Rome Film Festival 2012. The Rome Film Festival is normally in October but it may be moved to November to better complement studio awards campaign apparently. They are still deciding.
  16. Hi Katchitup. Hi everyone else too I hope we do start seeing more Gatsby and Django material soon. When Django is ready fear not for you can be sure it will be heavily promoted. That's what Weinstein does. The Django poster at Cannes may be just that - a poster. I remember there being an even bigger poster for Shutter Island at Cannes and that was all we saw. Leo does sometimes go to Cannes. He was there last year for the Red Granite Launch Party (because they are involved in Wolf Street). I suppose it will depend if he is doing anything else because the Festival happens this month. So not long to wait to find out.
  17. Hi Pami Yes I too think that "Wolf of Wall Street" will be a great movie. Leo and Jordan seem to get along well and Marty said in a recent interview that he is "excited" about doing the film.
  18. OMG, this is so true. Helllo ladies! Hope you are all well. That tweet is so true, you are right Barbie Can't wait for Leo to work with Marty again. August is n't too far away and fingers crossed we should get some on set pics if it's being shot in NYC. I'm still a little troubled by just how good Leo looks WITH A BEARD. I REALLY don't like beards. And yet ...
  19. Hi there. Sorry for the delay in replying. This is my first chaance to use the computer in a few days. Yes - it has been all things Titanic here in Belfast. There was a Titanic festival for a fortnight in April which included a memorial service in Belfast's cathedral, the unveiling of the world's first Titanic memorial garden in the grounds of Belfast City Hall, an outdoor MTV concert in the grounds of the new Titanic building, plays, tours, musical events etc. It has been everywhere. Then of course there was the re-release of Titanic in 3D. "Titanic" was incredibly popular in Northern Ireland when it was released in 1997 and it seems that the 3D release was just as well received. Any screening I went to was full and the staff at the multiplex I go to said every showing was the same :-)
  20. Hi Pami That ani is funny We can all have a party where we are if this turns out to be as good a year for Leo as it promises to be. That reminds me - the world's largest Titanic visitor experience just opened in my home city (Belfast - the city where Titanic was built). It's really well done and worth a look if you are ever in the city.
  21. [name=calibi' date='Apr 28 2012, 02:07 AM' post='2873710] http://badassdigest.com/2012/04/24/cinemac...s-gorgeous-odd/ Good article. Thanks for posting. Hi Girls! Hope you are all keeping well. Leo will be perfect as Gatsby I think : beautiful, mysterious and ultimately heartbreaking. Just right for the role. The whole producction will look dazzling and sumptuous I am sure because Baz does visually stunning so well. The use of pop music would n't surprise me either. Baz has done that before too and it worked okay. Hope it is n't too long before we see something more. A first poster usually comes out before any moving footage. I saw a message from Warner Bros on Twitter recently acknowledging that there had been some Gatsby posters on the web but confirming that they are fan made. If you notice they have all focused on Daisy. I am sure the authentic posters will feature Leo as Gatsby. He is the title character after all. It would be weird if a Gatsby poster did n't feature Gatsby Leo as Calvin - sexy beast Evil just should not be that attractive. I'm not a Tarantino fan. I much prefer Scorsese. However, this is something new for Leo and that's good. I'm sure he'll be brilliant. This also has Harvey in his corner which is n't usually a bad thing in Hollywood. No matter what anyone thinks of Harvey, he is good at his job and rarely fails to get what he wants. Looks like there is a feast of great stuff ahead for Leo fans this year. Take care all
  22. Hi, dr. brown . Nice to see you posting more. And good point... the movie wouldn't be the same without those dramatic scenes . I guess you're talking about the third, right? The same I would choose... Leo lying down on me, or I lying down on him . 1,000 pages? Hi Nanda Hi Fash and Hello to everyone else. Hope you are all well girls. Thank you so much for the welcome I wish I could post more often but I don't have a computer at home anymore which is why you don't hear from me everyday. Thanks for the Titanic Mag scans Sick. As to when we might see any Gatsby or Django material - with December releases, it trailers etc usually appear from August-September onwards. Of course if either film appears at any of the film festivals we may get some footage or feedback that way. In fact, I read a while ago in Variety that there are rumours that Django may well premiere at the Rome Film Festival 2012. This normally happens in October but the organisers are considering a move to November to better fit with studio award season schedules and plans. The line up has not been confirmed yet but the man who runs the Rome Film Festival does have a good relationship with Harvey Weinstein. As to Gatsby material - who knows. Baz does not hurry himself so it could be quite a wait. However, Warner Bros has invested BIG money in Gatsby so they will want it to be very visible and so I expect a real push on promotion to help recoup the costs and with that in mind, I thimk we can guarantee that Leo will be front and centre He is not only the title character, he is their cash cow. (Clearly lovely Leo is not a cow but you know what I mean!) Take care all. Back soon xo
  23. Here are some options... I'd pick the third option Thanks Ox by the tweet, Kat by the article and Barbie for the comment... Welcome Lukas-Love3r . Hi Nanda. Yes. Rose not making room for Jack on the raft has long been an issue for debate. I think that he was always going to die because Jack is meant to represent all the young working class men on the ship who were much less likely to survive the tragedy. I think it was felt that Jack's selfless sacrifice for Rose made the film more romantic. I don't know about you but I would have been fine with Jack and Rose surviving and making lots of babies I would n't have minded seeing the fourth option.
