Karolina Kurkova Reveals Her Pre-Show Secrets
Karolina Kurkova won't be walking in any shows, but that doesn't mean you won't see her around the tents at New York Fashion Week. The Czech model will be running around shooting scenes for her new show The Face on Oxygen. We caught up with the face (lips, hair, legs, boobs, seriously it's ridiculous) to find out more about her beauty routine.
Fashion Week is a few days away. How do you prepare your hair and skin for a big appearance or photoshoot?
"For my hair I like to use a Kérastase deep conditioning mask, which I put in my hair and leave in for a couple of hours. For my skin, I go to a Russian woman who has been doing my facials for 9 years. She really cleans every pore, steams, and puts fruit enzymes all over my face."
And your body?
"When something really big is coming up, I like to do a little mini cleanse. I get juices from Organic Avenue and eat a clean, healthy diet. Then I'll do a little bit of Soul Cycle or Body by Simone. Soul Cycle is a great 45 minutes of fun and music. Body by Simone uses a lot of bends, dancing, and movement. I don't like to just lift weights or do something boring."
You're also the face of Donna Karan Woman. What drew you to that particular scent?
"It's very feminine, sexy, elegant, and distinguished without being too overpowering. Just like a woman. You can wear it during the day or on a hot date with your husband."
What else do you do when you want to feel your sexiest?
"I love a great mascara. A friend of mine told me about mascaras from Lancôme. It's incredible how long and full they make your lashes look. I use their oscillating mascara and then I go over it with their thinner mascara. You immediately feel sexier and wide- eyed. I also love putting a black pencil from M.A.C. or Chanel inside my eye and taking my finger and smudging it."
Has your beauty routine changed at all since becoming a mom?
"My big love lately has been lipstick, especially after giving birth to Tobin. I learned it was that quick, easy thing that made me feel sexy or dressed up without doing anything else to my face or hair. There's one that I really love by M.A.C. called Chili. It's a reddish-brownish orangish color, great for fall."
Your lips are famous—how do you keep them looking so plump?
"In terms of moisturizing my lips, I use pure coconut oil. Or Nuxe honey lip balm. But I actually play with them all the time. I'm always biting them."
