Spurs to pounce for Real Madrid ace Guti Tottenham are moving for Real Madrid's £5 million-rated midfielder Guti. The Mirror says Madrid president Ramon Calderon is desperate to sign Chelsea winger Arjen Robben and that would allow Guti to leave the club. Tottenham have gone for Guti twice before and Real have asked them whether they would be keen on the 30-year-old as part of a transfer merry-go-round. Spurs boss Martin Jol wants to sign a left-sided midfielder and Levy may now get the chance to resurrect his interest in Guti.

Juventus senior players resist Cannavaro return There is resistance from inside the Juventus dressing room over the prospect of Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro returning before the start of the season. Corriere dello Sport says while Juve directors would welcome their former captain back to Turin, the same cannot be said of senior players. Many are unhappy with reports that Juve are in talks with Real about re-signing Cannavaro after the way he jumped ship last summer while the likes of Gigi Buffon, Pavel Nedved and Alessandro del Piero chose to stay and fight to lift the club back into Serie A.
